Ambassadors of other watch brands wearing a Rolex
As hard as it is to get a Rolex from an AD, and as much as people may say just get an Omega or a Tudor instead, at the end of the day Rolex's history, quality, and brand cachet just can't be denied. The biggest example of this I think is ambassadors of other watch brands who wear Rolexes in their spare time when the cameras are off. I find this both interesting and hilarious that someone could be paid to wear another watch and yet still choose a Rolex. Here are some examples below. Any other ones you can think of or find?
Daniel Craig - Omega Ambassador David Beckham - Tudor Leonardo DeCaprio - Tag Heuer Current F1 World Champion Max Verstappen - Also Tag Huer Lewis Hamilton - IWC |

It’s funny, I was in the Omega boutique last year wearing my RG DD40 olive looking at the new Speedy in Sedna gold. The sales guy in an attempt to help convince me to purchase was like did you know Daniel Craig wears an Omega? I responded yes, but when he’s off camera he wears a Rolex. The look on his face was priceless.

That's hilarious...
Truly a case of "I wouldn't wear that if you paid me". Well, they are getting paid from those brands...and they really don't wear them |

Glad to see Daniel Craig does not wear that hideous NTTD watch in public.

Not seen Daniel Craig wear a Rolex for years (those pic are quite old).
He has been wearing Omega in his personal life since being an ambassador |

Definitely surprised to see them wearing other brands. Maybe their endorsement deals aren't lucrative enough to sway them lol.

I wonder how much of it he actually designed though. He mentioned his interview Omega simply asked what features would suit a 007 and that was it. Light weight, secure, etc. That was about his level of involvement and Omega did the rest. Omega tries to milk the 007 thing as much as they can.

They all put on Rolex as soon as the cameras are off
At least with Beckham he's only a little bit of a traitor... still with the Wilsdorf group.

Bang on, I recognise all those pictures from JakesRolexBlog or whatever it was called and I am fairly sure they predate the Omega ambassador deal.

I seem to recall something about Craig/Rolex/Omega years ago. Basically Omega didn’t like seeing him promoting Bond movies in his Rolex and his response was basically “you pay Bond to wear an Omega, not me” (good for him). I could also be totally making that up, too.

I believe it was after Skyfall that he stopped wearing Rolex in Public. Every photo since he is wearing an Omega when out and about - old vintage seamasters / aqua terras and even Bullhead. |

I think what actually happened is that they made Daniel Craig personally an ambassador half way through his tenure as Bond rather then the Bond Character himself. Any pic in the last 5 years with him on the street / events etc is all Omega. I have been trying to spot him with his Rolex now that he is officially not Bond but nothing yet. |

Make sense - There is a difference between a personal sponsorship and one via the company you work for
