Pepsi vs coke gmt

Seems.like there is a lot of excitement regarding the coke bezel.

A real gmt is with a Pepsi bezel, the coke was only introduced in the 80's, so why the high demand?

For me personally, would love to add a LNRO ceramic to the collection as that would be much closer to my fathers watch than my BLRO.

With regard to the general population, I’ll assume that the high interest in a black and red bezel is because of different taste and the high interest in Rolex sports models particularly the GMT in general.

Not everyone likes red and blue

Because it looks better and tastes better too.

When we eventually see one (whenever that may be), it's going to have a really deep saturated red that's gonna look amazing.

Seriously? This thinking is laughable.

A real Sub is only black and doesn't have a date window...

I don’t think colors dictate what a “real” GMT is.

Things evolve. Get over it.

Exactly. I love all the color iterations of the GMT over the years, but if I could add one right now, I would probably go for the BLNR. Which is funny, because I always thought it was a little boring until they put it on a jubilee bracelet. Now it's my favorite.

Technically, I suppose, the GMT Master only came with Pepsi or black.

The GMT II, however, was introduced with, and only had, the black/red (coke) for its first few years until the Master was discontinued.

The GMT II should, rightfully, be coke, and that could be exciting.

Must admit bought a 16710 about 12 months ago, swapped bezel to a Pepsi, can’t ever see me changing it back…

The bezel colours are meant to represent day and night from a GMT perspective. Black is clearly closer to night than blue.......

I also would like a Black/Red bezel on my GMT II.

Out of curiosity, where did you find it’s called LNRO?

I can’t find it anywhere, but if I follow Rolex naming logic it should be RONR?

BLNR = BLeu NoiR
BLRO = BLeu ROuge
CHNR = CHocolate NoiR

Whereas LN is LuNette NoiR (Black Bezel)

So I expected it should be RONR = ROuge NoiR

I think you are right because it would be red bezel with black sprayed on the other half
I was thinking lunette noir rouge

Some seller also describe it as LNRO so I was going with that as well

The Coke does look a lot nicer than the Pepsi to my eyes.

The burgundy of the Coke looks better than the red of the Pepsi.

Will they then discontinue the Pepsi?

And consequently see skyrocketing prices?

Ironically I just bought a Pepsi insert to replace the coke insert. I also got the jubilee bracelet. I liked the coke but the Pepsi was a nice change.

One thing is for sure is that you cant swap out the ceramic bezels like the aluninum. So people will buy more then one just because of the bezel.

I have a Coke Fat Lady that I love. I don't care for anything too flashy. The Pepsi is a little too flashy for me.

Also, up until 2000 I don’t think you will find any advertisement or catalog photo of a stainless gmt11 other than with a black/red insert.

new pepsi mk3 looks very close to a coke depending on the light. I think I prefer this over a black and saturated red bezel.

Drink (Diet) Coke; wear Pepsi! I don't care for the Coke combo, and I love the old, aluminum bezel Pepsi colors. So I'm 16710 Pepsi all the way.
