Rolex Daytona Beach question

I'm interested in the watch as an investment and I also think it's an amazing-looking watch. I tried looking online to see how much they are sold for but I can't find a clear answer. I found the watch for auction on an auction site called tzoffeys1818 (Lot 89).
Can anyone help me get a more accurate estimate on what it's worth?

Each watch is different and each color sells for different prices…… I assume you wanted the pink dial?

Have to agree Rolex watches today are thought of as little more than ££$$ objects. And its quite funny when the beach Daytona was launched they were very very poor sellers, that were aimed mainly for the female market who wanted a larger watch.

a few years ago they have been sold less than 20k... No one wants this beach dials and prefers a standard leatherstrap Daytona... Nowadays they are quite rare.

My AD could not get them in fast enough. Sold right out. Same with the leopard Daytona.

When do you plan to sell?
How much do you intend to make on this investment?
What other uses do you have for your capital?

The starting price on the auction site is 65,000$.
Would you say under 100,000% is a good deal?

I tried to attach an image but it didnt let me. It's a blue dial Daytona Beach.
As I said earlier though, the watch is for auction on a site called tzoffeys1818 on Lot number 89.

Honestly the investment aspect is just a way for me to justify getting this watch.
I mean the goal would be to sell it for 1.5 times the buy price.

So it is not an investment?

How long will you hold it to get that return?

The watch no doubt will be worth more than you paid…..a rare low production run watch…….there’s a few full sets for sale on chrono for 150k…..are ready to pay that or hoping to get a deal on a auction? Because that sounds like a bad plan….

The starting price is 65,000$ so I'm hoping to get a good deal.

That’s what I suspected…..…..if too cheap it’s fake or a scam…..it will sell for over 100k or its more than likely a scam…..the blue dial(dial only) sells for 50k or more

I think those were Ref. 116519.

Asking price probably close to $100k.

Many times PADI and I don’t agree on topics, but in this one, we are on exactly the same page. It is your money, do what you want with it, but to myself, and I submit most WISes, a fine timepiece like a Rolex is an item that is coveted, treasured, sometimes passed on as Heirlooms. It should be held with more regard then a certificate of Bitcoin.

But hey, that’s just my opinion, it is your money and do with it as you wish.

Buy Low, Sell High and you make a profit. I'm just not convinced a watch is an investment. If you have your other short and long-term finances in order and want a watch then buy it. If it appreciates in value, you wear/like it, you sell it and make a profit good on you. IMHO a watch is not an investment. If your planning to buy it and use the "profits" to send you Kid's to college, I don't believe that would be wise.

Here in the uk I think they go for over £65k. Watches of distinction in lymington, uk has one and their prices are very fair imho.

Not worth it, girly, and the last Daytona I’d want but for instagrammable female influencers great looker.

The green dial is nice. There’s a member here on TRF who had his modded with the green dial if I remember correctly. Try searching for that thread as the OP provided some nice high res photos of it. If you want to make money, the ‘Tiffany’ one is likely your go to choice. Anything ‘Tiffany’ coloured is gold these days.

That was me ;)

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=823062

Be extra careful with this watch as an investment… you can read in the linked topic above why.

This reference very clearly illustrates people have gone completely mad and greedy at the same time. On C24 you will see the straps advertised for absurd amounts while just can order them via any RSC for a FRACTION of the prices on C24. Same for the dials…..
Only problem with these straps is they are made in limited batches and an order can take many months due to time between production runs.
There is also quit a big chance worldwide numerous conversions are in progress with a huge demand for these parts for obvious monetary reasons….

Yes the turquoise blue is worth twice as much as the rest…….green is second in price
