How hard is it to get a Black Milgauss?

Hey there

For some reason I don't even know, I got so deeply attracted to the milgauss. I thought of the blue one first since it's hotter than the black one in the online forums. I went to the nearest AD and checked both out but the black one turned out to be my favorite. The matte black dial just swooped me in and I got hooked on to it right then. I've been hearing rumors of the milgauss getting discontinued soon and seems like the ADs are also not receiving stock of it these days. People who have gotten it recently, how was your buying experience? Did you have to wait too long?

I hope you bought it from your AD.

I bought one from a grey dealer about 6 months ago. I had asked my AD for one, a month later I was offered the blue but passed. I only wanted the black. And I didn’t want to wait for months or never get offered one.

You don’t ever really see incomings here. A lot of rumours about the line being discontinued this year.

I know why you like it, it’s different, it’s really amazing. I hope you get one.

It's always being discontinued. One day it will be.

I've never seen a black one for sale at an AD. I bought my Z-Blue out of my AD's window. I thought the black would be more common. This has not been the case in my albeit limited experience.

I think the Milgauss is a cracker, black blue or white. Hope you can get a black one.

I highly doubt you will find one at an AD, even if they are able to source it. It's a desirable piece and the grey market prices have gone up significantly. It's highly likely that it will either be discontinued or refreshed. If you are really passionate about it, I think you will have to go grey. I recently bought mine from a co-worker, paid retail for the 3 year old watch (a fair price). Good luck.

Next week will be 13 months on wait for a Z-Blue at my AD.

My AD was very uprfont with me and said they maybe saw 2 pass through the store all of 2020. I checked in with my AD Christmas week jokingly hoping for a Christmas miracle and she was very upset they did not have one for me for the holiday. They did offer me a fluted black DJ jubilee, but I passed based on her stating that she guarantees I will get one "very early" next year (i.e now lol). I'm sure whatever they got in 2021 went to more spendy VIP's (which is fine, i get it).

I'm a degreed/licensed professional engineer (electrical). I'm a watch and porsche nut. As a kid, having a rolex was for dreams and movies. So i decided I would reward myself for my 40th (this past summer). Hoping I get it soon becuase if it's discontinued in the next two months the grey price will skyrocket and if Rolex replaces the watch, everyone will want the "newest model rolex" and demand will skyrocket and i'll get pushed down again. I'm screwed either way lol.

I walked into an AD and bought one in December. See my incoming post about it. It is do-able.

That's impressive. The OP is in California. I've had zero luck finding anything in CA by just walking in.

That sucks. Needing to wait 13 months for a Milgauss is too bad. Paying over retail for a Milgauss also sounds not great.

Hey OP, I am in Southern California and I am on 3 or 4 lists (can't remember the amount at the moment) for both the Black dial and Blue dial Milgauss's. Every AD that I've talked to and gotten on their list said vaguely the same things about the Milgauss of "its not as popular as the subs/gmts/daytona's, but there is still people waiting and we don't get that many"

I just traded for one via the grey market just in case they do get discontinued before I get buy one new from an AD, but ultimately the Milgauss was my dream watch since before I was even into watches, and if I can get one new, then I will keep that one and move my used one along.

I recommend getting on some lists and hoping for the best.

4-6 month wait max. Not that difficult to get.
