DJ 36 - Palm vs Wimbledon dial
I really like the fit and domed bezel on the OP and DJ 36. Since most/nearly all OP models with interesting dials seem to be unavailable, I am considering a hunt for the Wimbledon or Palm dial DJ36. I will go to my AD who has helped me in the past but not sure what they will be able to do these days.
What’s the availability like? I have seen the Palm dial trading at a big premium but don’t see as many offered as other Rolex models, same with the Wimbledon dial. Also, any thoughts from owners of either? I live in FL and the palm appeals to me as a tropical style and I also like that it is a mix of sunburst and matte. I love the black/green markers on the Wimbledon. Thank you! |

Just my n of 1 but I suspect the Wimbledon easier to come by. Have been offered it twice by two different ADs. Palm dial seems rare, even just watching all the incomings here.

I got the Wimbledon dial 36mm in 2 tone in about 5-6 weeks. The palms I was told would take much longer.

I got a palm dial DJ36 TT for my wife. It took every bit of six months to allocate. It’s very unique, blingy, and she loves it.

I love the Wimbledon dial. I picked up a 36mm one (oyster bracelet and fluted bezel). It was stunning.....My only problem was I had a hard time reading the time. The rhodium dial was really dark in low light. I ended up selling it pretty quickly because I like to be able tell the time at a quick glance.

I’m not a fan of Romans so the Wimbledon does nothing for me. The Palm dial is very cool but my choice in the 36 would be the blue fluted motif dial.
