Counterfeit Watch, Tudor?

It seems that most of the watches that are counterfeit are high value watches. What is the probability that a Tudor watch would be Fake or even a under 5k Omega. Thinking of buying this watch on ebay.

A whole world of fakes exist out there - from Tudor to Tissot.

They make fake Casio F91W so the chances are very high. But doesn’t eBay have an authenticity guarantee program anyways?

They have fake tudors and omegas. They even make Casio Gshocks.

Tons of sub $5000 watches are faked- Omega, IWC, Brietling, Tag etc. All of the Tudor divers and GMT are very well faked.

That said make sure the watch you're looking is sold by a seller with feedback for selling high value watches/jewelery, that it's covered by their authenticity guarantee and you pay through eBay with a credit card, ( no matter what the seller might offer to go around ebays rules),and you'll be ok.

If it's not covered under their Authenticity guarantee, don't buy it.

It might be worth it to work with your AD to see if you can get the same watch at a similar price point. I was just at a local Tudor AD and they had many watches from the Tudor line in the showcase.

I have purchased a Tag Heuer on eBay in the past. It came as a full set as well as the original purchase receipt. I have a Black Bay Bronze that has a similar profile to what you are looking at. The rose on the crown, crystal profile, indices, and market dimensions look correct. Good luck with your decision

What are your main concerns with the watch?

If on ebay it should go through authentication if its over I believe $2,500 so that's an extra layer of security for you. Also make sure the seller has a good history.

I've bought 3 watches on ebay recently that all were authenticated and the process is pretty smooth.

Oddly enough, fakes of the Tudor Black Bay models are among the best out there. Due diligence is always key, but I personally wouldn't buy a BB from anyone but the most trusted/vetted sellers (or better yet, directly from an AD). I especially wouldn't but one from some random/low feedback seller on eBay. I would also not rely on their "authentication" program/service, as they are also "unknowns" who may or may not know what they are doing/looking at.
And, I would hate to have to go through the hassle of returning a watch that has been "authenticated" by them.

Regarding the specific watch you posted, I would probably lean towards it not being authentic. It could be OK, but the pics aren't good enough (for me) to make a definitive call.
However, there are enough anomalies and/or lack of detail there alone for me to pass on it. YMMV...

For what it's worth, the watch in the pictures appears genuine, in my opinion.

There was an article that I read, (honest), stating that they had actually rounded up some properly experienced watch smiths, as they have a lot riding on the credibility of this service and don't want it unravelling on account of fakes getting through. Serial number is logged and records kept, so if it does turn out sketchy, showing the chain of custody, for want of a better term, is better than with many sellers and getting a refund shouldn't be hard.

But I wouldn't judge authenticity based on any photo of a Black Bay- especially "Shield" dials. They fakes are scary. The Rose dials had some spottable errors at least

Thank you all for your advice. I went ahead and made a purchase since it is covered by the ebay authentication. Seller had low feedback but had sold watches that were higher cost than the Black Bay. He had 100 feedback.

Seems like Black Bay does not keep it's value. A new one is listed at $3,900 at an AD.
