Just so confused… 16800 help please.
Ok, so I’ve inherited a lovely 1980 Submariner 16800 from a family friend (6.5 serial number) which appears to have a real random combination of bracelet components:
78360 links 558B end links 93150 clasp stamped CL10 (2004 I believe) with a ‘S’ service stamp I’ve searched the forum for an hour now and am still none the wiser as to what the correct “factory” combination would have been beyond that it should probably have 93150 links to match the clasp? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks all. |

The only difference between the bracelet halves is that some have polished sides, and some don't. The clasps are different, so the entire bracelet gets the same number, although they are interchangeable.
Subs usually came on the extension, 93150, bracelet. A 78360 bracelet would not have the extension clasp but would have a "standard" clasp. Either could have been put on by the Dealer at purchase. This one sounds like somebody put on a later clasp for whatever reason; probably so it would have the "Sub" clasp, although that same clasp/bracelet was available on the GMT and the Exp II.
