Would you trade?

2019 White Daytona worn for LNIB ‘21 Pepsi Jubilee and unworn OP Black.

I’ve had a few Daytonas and they a cool with crazy hype but, I love the Pepsi on on Jubilee and the OP’s wear great. It’s about the same money on the dealer level but Daytona’s are at silly asking price and I don’t really wear it, hard to insure for replacement and not getting another one.

Also just prefer the 40/41 cases, Daytona is really like a 38.5-39.5 with the tiny lugs. All class of course.

Go.

Yea? You feel this way because of the scarcity and hype or that its such a superior piece compared to a GMT Master ll the second hardest Rolex to get?

Thanks for the feedback!

Superior. Plus it's not impossible to just get Pepsi straight up from AD.

Daytonas are going for about 50k right? Pepsi are are going for around 25k and OP black is 10. I know they would have to make some money as well, but the deal alone you should get some cash back as well, like 5k at least.

Friend to friend maybe but dealers are going to make money and they have the unworn hotness. Pepsi is worth about $31-$32 and the OP unworn is $12-13K If you don’t think so, try and get one.

Daytonas are being bought by dealers for $40$45 or less, they are not paying $50k and neither is the guy down the street unless its from a reputable dealer that just bought it for the above amounts, verified and listed it while deploying their website, marketing and sales people.

All just my opinion of course or based on actual events.

Got it - I only check out these sites every once in awhile, you did your homework.
I guess it comes down to what you want, right? I don’t think it is a crazy deal either way, just thought for how hot the Daytonas are your could squeeze out some cash, or maybe even a sub instead of the OP unless your heart is set on an OP.

yea, Solid insight for sure.

I have two 41 mm subs and a no date and date 41mm are at $18-$20k so almost twice the OP. Green 41 unworn Sub is around $30 these days.

Got it - Pepsi is hard to beat, so regardless of $ you got to get what you like. Doesn’t matter what the Daytona is worth if you don’t enjoy wearing it as much as you would the Pepsi. Let us know what you decide!

I would trade one of the subs for the Pepsi before I would let the Daytona go. And then just add the OP down the road. Just my two cents,

This seems reasonable. I would do the the trade with 5K back. I get what the OP is saying about the Daytona. I almost never wear mine for some reason but have FOMO about selling it. I wear the Pepsi all the time.

One other point, my 126710 wears smaller than the sub 41, especially with the jubilee. I don’t think the GMT is going to wear that much larger than the Daytona if that makes any difference to you.

I would not as I neither want a Pepsi nor the OP. Not sure I need the Daytona but I may have to pull the trigger to get it out of my head... LOL

Unfortunately it won't happen at MSRP as the Patek AD where I have some history has lost their Rolex representation.

I have both the BLRO and 500LN white. I would recommend that you sell the LN and buy the GMT outright and go on the list for the black OP and put the extra cash in your pocket. Of course if cash isn’t an issue then of course do the deal if that is what you want.
Good luck!

I wouldn’t do that trade, if I was letting the Daytona go it would be for a PM model only, but it’s your decision at the end of the day if your happy that’s all that really matter’s, good luck

No way in hell. Owning the Pepsi, I can comfortably say it is not in the SS Daytona’s league. It’s a great Sub alternative if you want to go GMT but it’s no Daytona replacement. You would regret that trade in a few months time. THE only Pepsi you might trade a Daytona for is the PM meteorite dial Pepsi.

I agree with this. I love my Pepsi but I'd be more likely to trade it toward another Daytona than vice versa.

You can use your chrono hours sub dial as a second time zone if you fancy.

Respectfully taken LOL. Question, do you or have you had any of the watches discussed? Just curious if your comment is from experience or general thought?

Respectfully I am 100% out of my mind too and agree with the poster. Daytona is in a different league, one of the best self-winding Chrono movements in the industry with legendary status and great looks. this is coming from someone who owned both! Chrono was always a higher tier in complication and appreciation than two time movement in any brand

Nope, I by far prefer a chrono over gmt functionality. And would prefer a 39mm explorer over a 41mm OP, but ymmv and good luck.

The value of the trade is about even.

I’d look at msrp, availability, and other factors.

Msrp, Pepsi and OP worth way more.

All 3 are available and still in production and likely to remain so.

2 watches is more than 1 watch.

If you’re looking for investment.. it’s more likely the 2 watches will grow with inflation at the same rate as the Daytona. So unless you think the Daytona will increase at a faster rate..

You can always sell or trade 1 of the 2 new watches for more options and flexibility.

Not a lot of downsides to the trade.

I’d be getting out of white dial Daytonas now personally. Also think Pepsi is too inflated.
