It's just a model name. They can call it Datejust 57 if they want.

Rolex’s own website says it’s 41mm. I don’t know how they get that measurement though.

41 sounds like a manly size and it’s a bigger number than 39 and 40(marketing)
Measurement including the crown is 41mm(fine print explanation) It’s like 0-60 times in cars with some using rollout and some rounding numbers or damaging the car to achieve certain numbers. Lug to lug and how it appears on your wrist(proportions) are what matter. The model size reference number and even it’s case measurement is still just a guide for you to base a decision. Always wear in person before purchase if possible.

If that stumps you, just wait until you find out that fluted bezels don’t actually screw down anything.
Why god, why do they do it!? |

Because that's how old you should be before you buy one.

Because “NOT JUST TIME BUT ALSO HAS DATE!” is too cluttered for the dial?

They won’t sell it to you unless you are 41 years of the age on the dot… that’s why there are so many threads about long wait lists.

If it’s any help to you my DJ-II’s 41mm wears bigger than your DJ41.

DJ41 and Daytona case are the most comfortable watches I've ever worn on my 7.25" wrist. Both are svelte and contoured nicer than other flat-edged Rolex sport cases. Being just a hair under 40 mm they are just right for a majority of wearers.

It was 41 at the factory. Shrunk due to the time needed to get to our hands.

Actually I got mine at just before 40 and like it. It’s a much better watch than op41, no doubt imo if you can stomach a cyclops. New trendy dials would send it nuts on smooth bezel versions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Well I posted a few weeks ago about one in the case locally and was 100 per cent up for sale and when a TRFer called about it they lied and said it was display only. I should have bought it and flipped it and I’ve never done that but when that kind of thing goes on it dies make you think Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Rolex published it as a 41mm spec. So that’s why it’s a DJ41, even though it’s a 39.5mm. Plus a DJ 39.5 would be weird nickname.

41 is 1 1/2 better than 39.5. And all my amps go to 11 not just 10. So they must get louder
