Won't lower prices by a dime. Trillions of new dollars will now be made by those in oil from Texas to Teheran and they ALL love Rolex.
Meanwhile rich Russians will have no problem buying grey.
A lot of fury signifying less than nothing.

It won’t alter the worldwide market but that’s not the point. It’s the right thing to do.

To those tempted to speculate and comment on how this will affect the supply of Rolex to their territory, please don't.

It was a matter of time.

All general logistics have been halted so even if they did want to send inventory I doubt it’d make the journey.

For those who don’t have access, article states that any watches currently for sale were received prior to the start of the war.

The price of a Rolex Submariner in Russia is 1,163,500 Rubles (based on conversion rates as of this post).

Exports to Russia are a trickle. They are 1/10th the size of the U.S. market.

I wonder how much these actions have to do with ethics and how much they have to do with the instability of Russian currency?

Many cards are being reshuffled - I’m sure some will question the motives behind all of the companies taking action.

So for now, Rolex has done what is right. Later than others, but they are more conservative, done is done.

Nice! The list of companies is growing. Will be interesting to see for how long. Companies are not likely to announce that they are resuming sales there. Hopefully it will be for a long time.

It’s the “moral” thing to do but it will only increase prices on the grey market here at home

Agreed it’s the moral thing to do, even though it does cost them quite a bit

I think thought that even though they will halt exports the rich and powerful in any situation will always spend on toys and therefore they will find a way to buy their toys

Currency instability may be the first rational explanation I've heard, besides PR move.

McDonalds, Coca Cola, and Netflix are great weapons against any adversaries health. Those corporations should stay open and lower their prices in Russia if they really want to support Ukraine.

Rolex jumping on the ban wagon is good publicity and they'll still sell every watch they make.
