Getting a rubber strap for a sub, any considerations

Hi all,
I want to get a rubber strap for my 14060M. I want to know if there is anything I should know regarding potential problems before I proceed? Will I be able to use the Rolex sprinbars, or will I have to use others?

I was thinking of this strap:

If you like it get it. You should be able to use the spring bars that are on your Rolex.

First you have to ask yourself...Why am I taking of a bulletproof 900 dollar Stainless Steel bracelet, just to replace it with a 25 dollar piece of rubber.............

Once you get past that hurdle, The one you show looks OK, although they may also carry some Hirsch kevlar rubber straps that have curved ends and hug the case a bit better..

As said, some straps only have a 1.8 or smaller hole and a Rolex Sub used 2.mm springbars.. You might need to either drill out the holes on the strap, or get smaller in diameter spring bars.......

The hirsch carbon does look nice. I don't have my heart set on anything in particular, just black and waterproof. As much as I like the bracelet, sometimes it is nice to have a change, plus I bought the watch to wear everywhere, but find I don't travel with it, because I feel like it attracts the wrong kind of attention, but changing out the bracelet for a strap makes it a lot less obvious. I also want to be able to wear the watch on the inside of my wrist for the same reason, and doing that with the bracelet, with the big coronet on it, does not have the same effect. Are there any straps that you know of that definitely take 2mm bars?

I have a Tudor sub on a black Hirsch carbon fiber with a deployant. Its very comfortable, water resistant to 100m and looks quite good. I put it on to save the wear and tear on the almost mint 9315 folded link bracelet that I can no longer buy (at least from RSC Dallas). I'll try to take and post a photo tomorrow.

I had been contemplating the same change for my sub the last couple of months. Went through the process of looking at different bands etc etc. I am back at square one, and have decided to leave it as it is. I obviously have too much time on my hands.

Good luck with your decision

Some may frown upon this but the Omega double ridged rubber strap, the double ridged carbon strap and the Planet Ocean style rubber strap all look great on a Sub or Sea Dweller in my opinion. I think the fit is dead on too.

Thanks guys,

I have a NATO I used to wear on my Invicta. Might try that for a while. This all has to do with my wild theory that no one believes: I want to wear my sub anywhere I might go and not worry about it (even the occasional night trip to New Orleans), and I really think that putting it on a strap makes it look less noticeable, and under the radar to those who might be interested in it, if you catch my drift. I have realized that the first thing that tips me off that someone is wearing a Rolex is the bracelet and the clasp. Anyone else believe my theory that people are much less likely to notice a "dressed down" Rolex? Crazy, I know........

Why not just insure the watch and then you do not need to worry about where you wear it!!!
