Platinum Day-Dates Skyrocketing to $200K After Nelk Boys Stunt?
Gratuitous hype thread warning
Will Platinum Day-Dates skyrocket after being featured in TMZ lead story? Discuss. “Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... the ice blue platinum Day-Date 40mm isn't sold in stores, meaning Steve had to custom order it. Platinum Day-Dates are known to be among the most expensive Rollies on the market -- more valuable than gold models -- and we're told xxxxx's has the classic Rolex ice blue face.” |

ALL DD40s are skyrocketing.
They are some of the most expensive models now. RG DD40 and Plat DD40s are all so expensive now. Steve also gifted one of the Nelk boys the RG DD40 Chocolate dial on the latest episode when he gave Trump a Plat DD40 as well. |

I think a platinum Skydweller with ice blue dial would be pretty sweet. Sky and clouds design. I've tried on platinum DD before and they're heavy for sure.

I don't think DD's can ever get really collectible because there's too many variations. They aren't bad by any means.
I think prices will die down on all the DDs over time except for very rare standouts like Rainbow that might stand the test of time. If they had limited release special dials again similar to Eisenkiesel I could see those being collectible. An iced out regular platinum daydate doesn't seem all that special to me. Not worth more than msrp at least. |

I love Steve though. He's a real nice guy. From where he is now from where he started absolute weapon.
Love how he gave Kyle that Rose Gold Chocolate DD40. He's been there since the start and recognizes he wouldnt be where he is without Kyle. Prices are insane for that RG Choco now. $70k for a new one. Damn. |

Today is a great day to own a DD and a terrible day to want a DD. I’ll let you guess which camp I reside in (a WG in one of several dial configurations…someday).

Rolex cant or at least hasnt been able to make a fluted bezel with Platinum See Platinum DayDate But who knows with Rolex. Would love to see it though. My RG SkyD is already quite beastly. Can only imagine a Platinum version on the wrist

So some no-name YouTubers gave some no-name failed 7 times bankrupt "businessman" a watch, and its supposed to somehow make that watch more valuable? It makes it less desirable and valuable to me.

I love my Platinum Day Date. Never ever selling this watch, no matter what prices go to.

As much as I wish that you could be right, your whole premise is probably wrong. Especially your thoughts on the platinum DD. |
