Blacked-out MAD Paris Gulf Rolex Explorer II, questions, questions...
Hi everyone. New here to the forum. I have an unusual blacked-out Explorer II that I picked up in the UK. I'm trying to piece this watched together, and could use some help. It's a bit of an enigma, as the hands designs are from that of a Mark I.
(Sorry, yes, it's a modified Rolex, I get it, no flaming please, tku.) Model: ORIG. ROLEX DESIGN 16570 T (between lugs) Serial No: STAINLESS STEEL Z458576 (between lugs) = late 2006? Movement: 3186 = late 2006? Rehaut: No lettering = ?? Crystal: Etched Rolex crown at 6 o'clock Bracelet: Locking There is a story behind it. It was given to GT Class Team ROFGO driver Stuart Hall for a podium finish at the 24 Hours of Dubai in 2017. Thoughts, anyone? P.s. it's a stable mate for my Blue Sky-dweller. :) |

Like the watch case but not sure the bracelet works. Think that cheapens the look. On a Nato it would work better imho

So what do you want to know about it? If it was given out as an award it’s surely not one of one. I am going to guess it’s a Bamford, they seem to love the blacked out look and certainly wouldn’t mind changing out parts like the hands.

You might already know this but MAD is a company that customizes watches. Maybe write to them and see what they know about it.

Im not duke it out certain, but I was under the impression Bamford had their name on the dials. This one does not have that.

The hands look odd. Saw a blacked out Milgauss that looked way better.

I like it more than the regular 16570s but that's not difficult to do, for me.

These MAD Paris watches should sell for a premium secondhand.
Personally I dig their work. |

Very unique. Some of these customised offerings are very very cool. I know not everyone likes them but the world would be a very boring place if we all liked the same things.

I normally really don't like the custom jobs - but I think that actually works well.
Very legible too. |
