The new ones sure are nice but there is just something about the five digit pieces that makes me smile. Great pair!

I definitely prefer pre ceramic models, but those colors on your ceramic look great in these photos! Also the large applied lume circles are amazing. I would definitely buy one if it they were available at any reasonable prices as a great compliment.

They feel like very different watches. Even with similar shapes, colors and functions. Sort of like a vintage air cooled 911 versus a brand new one. 40 year difference in aesthetic. The vintage one is a bit more under the radar. Much like the vintage Porsche, your average person may not even notice it or assume a high value. Just looks like a neat old thing you are taking care of for fun. While I can’t take my newest watch off usually, I’m sure my vintage, 5 digit, or Omega and Tudor stuff will be right back in rotation soon.
Short version is I like both for different reasons. If pressed I’d say the vintage one is more attractive all around but, if I had to sell one GMT for some reason, I’d keep the modern one for reliability and because it has my name on the paperwork. I bought the vintage one from the original owner and like the idea of making my own story with my own GMT. If I had to narrow my collection down to 1-2 watches this would still stay but, I’d put a sub bracelet on it so it’s fully brushed with the micro adjustment. I don’t see that much narrowing down happening though.

A good buddy has the early version. Hoping to get a bezel color comparison soon. Don’t worry I have plenty of pre ceramic! I totally get that also!
