Tudor BB58- new movement from servicing.
Hey folks, a good buddy of mine has recently gotten into watches. He was telling me this weekend that the Tudor BB58 he got back in August last year, new from his AD was starting to lose time and reserve power. He sent it to the RSC for servicing and he just received word from Mayors that the watch requires a whole new movement. Does this seem right? Havent heard of this or read about any issues like this previously.

Tudor typically swaps the entire movement for warranty services. Biggest example would be the BB41 GMT with the date window sticking/malfunction.

The good news is that, since it has a 5 year warranty, he’ll be fine. This is a relatively new movement, developed specifically for the BB58, so not surprising there would be some issues. Mine is keeping near perfect time and power reserve is what it should be.

I didn't think they would replace a COSC movement due to the serial number being tied to the certification and the watch?

Mine is dead on accurate. I wonder if the main plate or basically the part with the serial was out of spec for them to replace the whole thing?
