36mm two-tone DJ is one of the most iconic

Yeah Submariner and all that... but this might be the most recognizable Rolex watch ever made.

You may well be right. Between the 70s and the 90s, it was by far the most recognisable Rolex.

I really love the six digit 36mm, especially the 11 series which I see as the standard for the model.

I think it is indeed the most iconic recognizable watch ever, let alone Rolex. That is coming from a submariner fanatic.

Really prefer the brushed lugs on the older DJ’s.

8 days straight with my 16013, which is a multi-year record for me. Some of the criticisms of the older Rolexes (the jankiness of the bracelet) can actually be a strength. It's super light and comfortable and the bracelet conforms pretty well to my wrist, though that's probably applies to all jubilees.

Agreed. My first was a TT DJ with a black tapestry dial back in the early ‘90’s - loved it, it was a fantastic piece.

I do like it but have issues with the combo of gold and stainless steel. The gold makes the stainless steel look more grey, whilst on a pure S/S model, it looks more silvery. That's why I wouldn't buy a special someone a two-tone Vendome Cartier ladies watch, as the steel looked too industrial. Not so bad on a men's watch, as the watch will naturally have more of an industrial look. Luckily I found a nice S/S Cartier (Ballon Bleu), so I didn't have to go all the way with solid gold!!

Many of the stainless parts on TT are brushed and appear to be less shiney.

Beautiful, really a gorgeous watch, but personally I think it looks too small unless you have a small wrist. I can't see 36mm becoming the standard size for the vast majority of men, as it used to be.

That’s a nice watch, but the 36mm is the icon that you’ll find others are referring to here.
