LEC on Datejust

Hello everyone!
I recently bought a rolex at a reputed store at NYC, its a rolex 41mm Datejust champagne dial with diamonds 2012. I researched on the internet and found all models after 2002 have LEC next to 6 in dial but I tried all sorts of way and couldn’t find one. When I called Bucherer NYC- official store of rolex, the agent said LEC will not be in Date just models. Is that true?

Mine has it, but it’s not easy to find. I believe my DJ was manufactured in 2018.

How did you find it? I tried all by pointing out flashlight on the dial etc., I am bit worried on this now.

All Rolex watches use the LEC crystals except the odd tinted crystal models (green crystal Milgauss for example). Sales staff are seldom well versed in all things Rolex.

Not being readily able to find it, however, is not unusual. This is a decade old watch too, and it may have been changed at some point in time, no Dealer can know if all parts are originally fitted.

Do you have an iPhone? If so, open the magnifier app. Take a flashlight and shine the light FROM the 12:00 position TOWARDS the 6:00 position. Not straight down onto the dial from “overhead,” but “sideways” if you know what I mean. While the light is on, use the magnifier to see the LEC.
