PAM311 & PAM275 Question
I really love the throwback look of the 1950 case design with the dome crystal, and I've been looking at potentially getting either a 311 or 275. They have the same P.2004 Monopulsante 8 day movement. I know they aren't hugely popular watches (most seem to prefer the 233 design), but I wanted to ask about movement issues and if it's really something to be concerned with.
I've done a fair amount of searching and reading, but haven't found a lot of information. I know there were some reports of the PAM233 having issues with the power reserve hanging up on some of the dot dials, and I'm assuming there are similarities in the movements of the 275/311 & 233 as they both share the 8 day. Is this something to be overly concerned with? I'd prefer not to have to go down the road of servicing, but if that has to happen are those issues pretty easily resolved by a Panerai service? Does anyone have feedback, thoughts, or anything to look out for? Really appreciate it! |

I had a 275, and now a 317
I love the feature set of the movement--I believe no other watch has this combination of features: chrono, GMT, PR indicator, zero-reset And I love the symmetry of the dial and the dome crystal Both have been very consistent with time keeping, but could slow down a few sec/day if running the chronograph with less than 1 day power reserve Have not had issues with the PR indicator, and I'm not familiar with the 233 dot problems |

Thank you, that's encouraging! Always happy to hear positive feedback from someone who actually owned the watch. Both are great looking, and I agree, I think the feature set with the overall case design is just so damn cool. That 317 looks really nice on the wrist.

Bought my 311 back in 2009, haven't had any issue.

Get a 311! The titanium case, tobacco dial, and domed crystal give it such a nice vintage look.

I know I’m reviving an old thread here, but can some of you 311 or 233 owners please reply with how these wear as far as the thickness of the watch?
I have owned a SD43, Pam 312, IWC 46mm Big Pilot and all seemed to be manageable for me. My heart is set on a 311 but my mind is saying to steer clear of an almost 20mm thick watch. Any thoughts would be much appreciated! Thank you in advance. |

233 should wear similar to your previous 312. The 312 is 18mm thick |
