Slightly Damaged Crown
I recently had my Model 1680 Submariner serviced, and it came back beautifully polished but the winding crown had a couple of burrs on the grip ridges. Can anyone suggest how or why this might have happened?

Date Change Error
Also, after being serviced, the date change function on my Model 1680 Submariner, 1575 caliber movement, stopped "flipping" date changes quickly, and now changes dates slowly, over several hours. What could be causing this?

.
Pictures would help. Some watchmakers go a little overboard with polishing at the end, is that what you are referring to? |

The date should always change rapidly as close to midnight as possible (i like it within +/- 60 seconds personally). If it's getting caught up it could be due to a number of things. In order of likeliness; 1. improper tension on calendar date jumper, 1a, improper endshake on date wheel via stud height needing adjustment 2. improper oiling of date jumper entry and exit points, 3. compromised date wheel teeth, 4. corrosion, dirt or oiling of calendar seating seating ring, 5. improper oiling yoke for cam, jewel for cam yoke or yoke/spring interaction. I've found most often the first two are very common reasons hence 1 and 1a (i couldn't decide which i find more often). In any case... it shouldn't happen.
