Fondled a BLNR today...

Finally located a BLNR on Oyster! I have never seen one in real life, only in web pics.

FAQ
"How can this be, have you been living under a rock?"

No, I actually see a lot of Rolex depending on where I'm at - maybe a half dozen no matter where I go. No one has a BLNR it seems. And store shelves have been bare for years.

Finally called the ADs in the neighboring metro region and did a little afternoon road trip out there. They had an exhibition model that was not for sale.

- Yes, this lives up to the hype! Beautiful bezel
- Bidirectional bezel rotation is smooth and "notchy", unlike Sub-style clicking
- Rather dainty, I must say (daily is an SD43 which is much more hefty.) Definitely light and wears flat, totally comfortable.

Added myself to another mythical "Waiting list" FWIW More waiting. If I never get one, so be it.

I felt the same way and also had never seen on in the flesh.

I got lucky and was able to get one from a different AD a couple of months later.

Honestly when I owned my BLNR - i never fell in love with it.

I'd rather the regular black bezel version.

And there's nothing wrong with the original version. I used to own it but then traded when working out the deal for my SD43 - regretted it ever since, of course.

If I still had the LN I probably wouldn't be lusting after the BLNR. But the GMT line has a 2-tone theme throughout history and the blue version really strikes the balance between the whole "Night & Day" design. I need some color in my life anyway

I've never particularly liked the BLNR but I had the opportunity to try one at my AD and I have to admit, it really works in person. I've never seen a photo that does it as much justice as the real thing.

I hope you get it. You never know, this time it could fall your way.

Looks great though I have to say - your SD43 looks the nicer model in those photos.

The distribution of the exhibition models sure seems odd. All three of the ADs I've been into have had BLNRs on display.

I'm in the jubilee camp, but I agree it's a stunner of a watch.

I have the BLNR on Jubilee and the BLRO on Oyster. I never bonded with the BLNR Jubilee so I gave it to my wife. The BLRO Oyster however, has never left my wrist since I bought it. My Daytona and SD43 hang out in the winder.

Every AD seems to have the BLNR on Jubilee. None have the BLRO. None have a stainless steel Daytona.

A beautiful time piece indeed, I have tried out one when I Visited my AD, I'm also on the list waiting for a call from his desk.

Once you get it... it’s onto the next.

The most special thing about it is your personal appreciation of it.

Don’t let the net and the ADs brain wash you. It’s not rare, it’s not crazy, it’s ready to get beat up.

Buddy was over the other day and he had one. Looks great and the polished centre links on the bracelet add a nice pop

Hoping you get something soon

They work well together. Since I got the 116710LN in 2009, I'm partial to it but still...they work nicely together for me.

When I tried on the Batman I was completely underwhelmed .. the look is stunning no doubt about it the colour scheme for me is great, just didn’t do it for me though .. if I was offered it for sure I wouldn’t turn it down though at retail …

The jubilee on the blnr really looks stunning to me. Also gives me an excuse to get a sub

That’s exactly my thoughts. Sub for oyster, and GMT for jubilee

Had one and never really gelled with it. Think it looks better in low light but found the brightness of the blue to be a little too much for me. All personal taste of course but I have found over the last 5 years or so having been through a 16710 pepsi, a pre-ceramic and ceramic bluesy, Rootbeer, TT Daytona and a Batman that two tone bezels or bracelets don't tend to stick around in my watch box. I will say though it's one of those annoying watches like the RG DD that everytime I spot someone else wearing it, I think why does it look better on them.
