Dallas RSC - Polish Only Service?
Does anyone know if Dallas RSC will offer a polish only service for my 116500?
I know it’s a mortal sin but this is my daily wearer and has taken a beating. I would like to clean it up but am not interested in a full movement service. If yes, any idea what the cost is for polishing only and a likely lead time?

Toronto RSC quoted me 325 CAD. The watchmaker came out from the back and talked me out of getting it polished though. He advised me to wait until I need to get it serviced. He said something along the lines of “we are not about taking your money and going with it. We want to do right by you, and this is a beautiful watch that shouldn’t be polished so many times.”

Not to diminish the significance of his message to the customer.
But any responsible watchmaker would do the same. There are a number of factors that come into play in this scenario, but the message that was likely to resonate most, was conveyed and understood Take the recent thread about the missing Rehaut as an example of where the service provider can potentially and quite unexpectedly and innocently end up. The customer may not fully appreciate the long term and broader consequences of taking a certain pathway and pursuing it |

But my experience has been that it is not customary. The Gold standard is to do a full service and whilst the watch is in pieces and everything is separated case wise it is a better result all around. |
