Sub Date Surprise

Two years ago I walked out of my AD with my first Rolex - a new 39mm Explorer. Before leaving I said, half jokingly, that one day I would aspire to a Sub Date. My name duly went on to the waitlist, but I wasn't really optimistic.
This week, out of the blue, my AD called. They had a Sub Date and was I interested? I knew I could only afford to run one Rolex, so said yes, but it would have to be a part exchange. 24 hours later, I accepted an incredibly good offer on the Explorer and walked out of the store with a 126610LN on my wrist.
This one's a keeper!

Nice watch!

IMHO I think the explorer was the one and only between the two.

Modern sub looks large and shiny. At $10,150 yes it should have more heft and shine.

Congrats! Please post some pics of your new beauty. I am glad to hear that you received a call two years after you expressed interest at the time you purchased the other watch. I am already about 14 months in waiting for a 124060 sub after having bought another Rolex from my AD for my wife. It was going to be for my 50th this past April, which came and went, but if I get called at any point this summer or fall I will be equally as happy.

It is the one Perfect watch to wear no matter what you’re doing. It’s the absolute best along with the 124060 Submariner. Congratulations.
