Advice on selling needed

I'm sure this has been discussed a zillion times but can you advise me on the best/safest way (and what to avoid) to sell a Rolex?

I'm not disclosing the model at this time, other than to say it is a vintage, high-value watch (in case that makes a difference). I am right at the beginning of my research and this forum seems like an excellent place to start.

The best and safest way to sell your Rolex is to an AD on their secure premises. Bear in mind they can only purchase it from you for a price that will allow them to resell it at market value but as an Authorized Rolex Dealer and brick and mortar business you can be assured that their check is good. In anticipation of pushback you did ask for the best and safest not the most profitable and riskiest.

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks!

No pushback from me. I have inherited a rare and vintage Rolex and have no idea about how to sell it safely and reasonably safely. You gave me a solid suggestion.

Thank you very much for that. Exactly the advice I was looking for.

Research continues but a little trip to London beckons...

If it's rare and vintage I would recommend going to a dealer that specialises in those types of pieces. Someone like https://www.acollectedman.com.

(and btw, I have no affiliation with that dealer but like how and what they sell)

I wouldn't sell to an AD. Their prices are lower than dealers.

Contact a few local dealers in your area + Italy and the US and see who comes up with the best price. Or put it up for consigment.
