My Vacheron Metiers d'Art Dias

So the recent thread on Vacheron reminded me perhaps there's a few I forgot to post!!

This one truly is special...aptly named the Metiers d'Art Tribute to great explorers collection - Bartolomeu Dias. Grand feu enamel dial LE of 10 pieces.

This is just a super cool piece of wrist art. I love the unique way it displays the time with the hour hand moving down the minute scale.

Another wonderful special piece by Vacheron...for all of those who still don't "get it" with VC...from the simple sporting beauty of the Overseas line to the intricacy and uniqueness of these kinds of pieces...to the one off custom Les Cabinotiers...they are a very special maison!

Pix to follow

What's the process for ordering a custom piece?

Are there AD games you have to play similar to buying a Rolex or Patek?

These are wonderful; however I suspect the Old World elegance of Vacheron is also what keeps it from being hyped which is also a great thing.

Wow! You’ve forgotten about more watches than what most people own!

Those who don’t get it won’t bother commenting here. Perhaps in some ways it may be a good thing.

Congratulations, you have a collection to be proud of. The good people at HODINKEE should feature you one day

I looked at this piece as well last fall—needless to say, it is truly a stunning piece.

I ultimately passed because at that price point I would prefer purchasing a watch that gets more wrist time and I knew this would be a special occasion timepiece. Glad you are enjoying it, and I agree, the movement is fascinating to watch.
