What skin tone does rose gold work best on?

I find RG so weird in how people describe the optimal skin tone for it. I heard everything. It works best on lighter skin tone cause of contrast, people say. Then I hear that it works best on darker skin tone cause of congruence.

Which is it?

no right answer tbh; you'll get many opinions.....100% subjective.
beauty is truly in the eyes of the beholder.....if you like it, just go for it.

Agree it’s completely subjective.

IMO (since that’s what you’re asking for) I’d say it works best on folks with a lighter skin tone.

Hehe

My AD won’t sell me a gold watches because my skin is so light haha (White if I can say that in 2022) but tried on a rose gold gmt my wife has in ordre and I actually think it looks good on most skin tones.

(The light makes my skin looks darker)

another factor- not all rose golds are the same. you have many
variations from yellow toned to pinkish to reddish (and many in between) JLC Rose Gold looks like a true rose gold to me.....Rolex RG is kinda pink toned.

Pretty much anyone can rock RG.

I'd say (IMO) the only no-no is ivory or white dials on super pale skin.

Exactly

Rose Gold is all I wear. Seriously. Wore my 935 yesterday and today I switched to my 515. Have a stable of SS and TT that I rarely wear and all my full PM models are RG. I've posted a ton of pics here on TRF wearing such and I think RG looks great. Obviously

I think the mistake some people make is looking at Rose Gold online and making there decision off that. I did the same. Once you see it in the flesh and try one on its totally different. Like waaaaaay different. Especially after you get some scratches and wear marks. Despite what some might say I feel RG is actually the least noticeable

For contrast and not some group shot

Here’s my main three that get all the wrist time. Lighting of the pic also matters

What skin tone does rose gold work best on?

Martian Green.

I've always thought Rose Gold suits black skin the best, whereas other colours i.e. white gold or yellow gold are too much of a contrast and may be too 'shouty'.

Love Rose Gold and don’t get Yellow Gold at all but don’t know why. But RG does suit my skin tone so it’s what I have;

Depends on the undertones of your skin, just like clothes. Lots of YouTube videos on colors that work best for particular skin tones. But hey if you like it buy it...

It's been said; that it's all subjective.

I thought a gold-black Omega SMP300M was totally my jam. I was stoked. Then I tried one on and found that the watch appeared to wash out against my skin tone. I was bummed. The various rose golds work a bit better with lighter skin tones, it would seem.

Rolex Rolesor may be different.

I like AP, Panerai, and PP rose gold. Not as much of a fan of Rolex rose gold. I love Rolex yellow gold.

Nice to have choices.

I believe it has more to do with the eye than with the skin.
