3000th Post with a big bonus

Yes I strategically cheated a tad

But its been an amazing 10 years since I joined here on TRF. Over these last ten years I have learned quite a lot, laughed quite a lot, and oh yeah "spent" quite a lot.

Just wanna say a big thanks to Steve, Ken, Padi, Larry, and all the guys I'm missing for all they do in making TRF by far my most visited site. By Far!! Takes a good bit of work behind the scenes I imagine keeping TRF up and running which allowed me to make these 3000 posts. Granted my 3000 posts pale in comparison to a lot of members here. Even still I hit 10 years next month.

As to the big bonus, well I have to give a shout out to two of my buddies here that steered/supported me in this direction. The big bonus focuses on size and not money per se. But anyway thanks Jay and Rory.

One last thing, no I'm not retiring from TRF or Rolex but yes I do realize "incoming threads" have been blasted of late as kinda silly, its just a watch we've all seen a thousand times, who cares, etc etc which is all well and good. This post was primarily to say thanks to a few people and to some internet friends I've made along the way.

Oh yeah, the watch. Just a boring somewhat controversial black diver that just so happened to literally arrive this morning. SD4"3". Ha!

First, congratulations on 3000 and almost 10 years Anthony. I enjoy many of your posts and contributions to this forum. You’re a good guy

Second, HUGE congratulations on your SD43. I knew you’ve been eying one, and I’m truly happy to see you take the plunge (no pun intended)

I hope you love the watch, it’s an amazing reference. Wear it in the best of health

Thanks Brian and yours as well. You were definitely someone who I thought of. I know you own one as well and also my perceived love of guitar you also have as I pretty much play every single day to unwind.

But jeez louise you also have me smoked on post count. At the rate I'm going it'll take me 30 years to catch you and only if you dont make another single post

Initial thoughts? Well having a good bit of wrist time with my 216570, 326935, 16600 and a 116600 I thought to myself "Meh cant be that different than those" Well I may have been too bullish. Its different. Not any wrist discomfort as I've read nor do I see that as a possibility granted it is day one. Overall zero complaints. Love the PM type heft, wider bracelet, splash of red on the dial, and the clasp feels different than the SDK. Height/thickness all good.

My only minor gripe and one I can definitely live with or else I wouldnt have got it........This damn cyclops

Any SD43 owners ever removed theres? I have read the adhesive is like super duper on the SD43 making me think it wont be easy to remove. Am I wrong? If so I just might do it if someone can tell me how. Might being the key word

There was someone here on the forum who removed the cyclops... if memory services he actually replaced the crystal but with what, I do not recall.

Maybe you'll have luck if you search for it.

I think ad you get older you'll like the cyclops

Congrats. Huge score.
FYI you get a “TRF oven mitt” at the 10k post mark.

Honestly? Less than 24 hours. Took advantage of the “dying” market. There are some good deals to be had on certain models. SD43 being one of them.

For some size comparison I figured I’d line up my 42’s next to the 43. Amazing how much a supposed 1 mm makes
