Hey J,
I did 13 years and started out as an Army Apprentice down your way in the Mornington Peninsular area at a place called Balcolme, then Bandianna (Albury/Wodonga),then Mosman (North Sydney,Middle head) near the Navy base, and finally Bulimba. (Brisbane). This was in R.A.E.M.E. (Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers for our non military types.) Of coures there were many detatchments all over Oz.Although I never got to go overseas not even Tasmania. Now nearly all the units have moved or removed from existence,as nearly all the spots possibly had some of the best real estate in Australia. Aaron |

Sweeeeet. Anodized Medals.
Only our Marines are authorized these...they are easily distracted by shiny things, the poor misguided sods. ;) (Color guards, too, I suspect, come to think of it). I'll have to take a picture of my watch with some of my medals (not that I have many medals...or watches). None of said medals is quite as spiffy and magnificent as that one, though they mean a lot to me. LT Sub <- Navy Com is my highest |
