About to buy an SD 16600
Hi all!
I'm about to buy an SD 16600 from an Athens AD. My girlfriend lives in Switzerland and works in a jewelry store so she can get me 20% of a submariner but I'm having a hard time getting used to the cyclops so I'm leaning towards the SD. I understand these 16600 are about to be extinct, so I think I should hurry. Is this true? And 2nd, do you have any tips for spotting fakes? Has anyone heard of an AD selling counterfeits? I doubt it but I'm a bit nervous |

Well SD is an excellent choice anyways
And if you go with an AD, need not to worry about a counterfeit....and yes with the release of Deepsea SD, SD would be disappearing from Rolex production list

agree.. SD will not be everywhere with the arrival of the deepsea..so if u have a good deal i would go for it..get it from an AD...for a piece of mind..dont worry of counterfeits...

Thanks! I have an old Datejust too, which I will post a thread about in the vintage forum because I need some advice on servicing.

Welcome to the forum. I have just bought my first SD, and I am going to the US to pick it up on my birthday. It's like Christmas I am so excited.
When are you getting yours, and can you post a picture. Great choice. |

I've had a couple of SS Subs over the years and ended up flipping them, but the SD I bought last year is a KEEPER! You'll love the feel of its weight on your wrist!!
Congratulations and ENJOY!! |

I picked up my SD last night - I felt a bit unsure at the last minute (is it too big? too heavy? should I economize?). As soon as I put it on, it felt so right on my wrist, I thought I'd worn it all along! I love it and I'm even happier knowing I got just as production stopped because that was my last chance!
I'll post some pics sometime over the w/e. Thanks to all of you! |
