Thoughts on the 1243 Eilean?

I know not many interested in Panerai these days but saw this watch the other day....what are the few remaining enthusiasts thoughts on this?? I think the dial, which represents the planks on the yacht flooring as well as the stitching on the strap, representing the stitching on the sails, are quite unique...plus, love a brown dial.

Let me know!!!!

Great looking sandwich dial, Radiomir case, great size, what's not to like.

If you like it, enjoy...great looking watch in my opinion.

I just got into Panerai and I think there is still interest in the brand especially considering the ridiculous state of other watch brands such as Rolex. Many people are quite frankly getting fed up and looking for other options. Panerai also stands apart from other styles and has a certain appeal.

The 1243 Eilean is not my style but certainly a unique watch with some cool wrist presence.

Nice connection to yachting with the link to Eilean. If I were into the yachting lifestyle, I would choose the 1243 over a Yacht-Master.

If many are not interested as you say, then why are asking prices of both new and used Panerai's so high? The reason is because many people are still very interested and are willing to pay the price of admission.

I like the dial but 45mm x 14.4mm is a big thick watch.

Great looking watch. As some have already noted it’s a Panerai dial with some texture. I do not remember the exact price but it was very well priced as an entry level piece.

I had high hopes that it would gain popularity. I’m locked in a battle with Panerai to get them to produce a guilloché dial.

it actually wears smaller than a 44mm luminor case because of the wire lugs. i've tried it in a boutique.

Its a great watch and Panerai is FAR from having no interest. Just because people don't post about them on TRF doesn't mean they are dead. Far from it.
