Icon5 Best NATO straps for a Sub?

I'm looking for high-quality NATO straps in various colors for Submariners. Does anybody have recommendations?

I've found these online but have not tried them out yet. Does anyone have experience with any of these NATO straps?

My biggest complaint is 99% of natos don’t fit between the case and the springs bars…

I've gone down the NATO rabbit hole a couple times now. I've decided that there are 3 outliers...Crown and Buckle, DaLuca, and Toxic. Toxic was the best...period. Check out the hardware...the hardware will tell you everything you need to know. Does it look cheap? Then the strap is probably cheap. Look super heavy duty? Then the strap is probably heavy duty and thick. Nicely finished and clean? Then the strap is likely nice and supple, and durable.

DaLuca are some of the most durable NATOs I've come across. Long, too. But they look a little 'utilitarian'.

Plus the fact expensive does not always give better quality I remember many many years Rolex did sell NATO straps that were expensive, but no better in quality in one's costing half the price or less of many others.

Good point. The hardware does seem to indicate the overall quality.

Thanks. Good info. Looks like Toxic is not around anymore. I can't load their website. But Crown and Buckle and DaLuca look nice.

I recall Phoenix straps were previously British military-issued. May be worth looking into, as if the company is good enough for the military, then it should be good enough for desk diving.

Have a few C&B Matte Supreme straps and so far they still look pretty good, no fraying, after wearing them on some of my watches over the last 2 years.

I have on rolex and Tudor. Just keep in mind that on it and other brands you’ll need curved spring bars since the gap between the springbars and the case is really narrow.

Toxic NATOs, now known as UTE straps after a trademark dispute with the scumbag who owns the term 'NATO strap', are available at the Hodinkee shop.

As much as I hate giving money to Hodinkee, I too agree that Toxic have always made the best NATOs.

I have several UTEs and can confirm the quality. Crown & Buckle makes nice ones too.

Interesting. I have not heard of that. Where do you get yours? I just found some on a site called Strap Code. They are $12.

This is for modern Rolex. I just found some on eBay that were the right size tip on the springbars.

Toxic (UTE) was also the most awesome source for spring bars. Really miss that guy. He posts here every so often.

Nato-International. On eBay. Real deal NATO. Has the R in the circle. Reasonable price and good selection. Polished or brushed buckle. Plenty of width choices.
