Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm
I hate to even ask as these threads often arouse friction, but my wife and I are going in two weeks, first time there, and I want to wear my Explorer.
Yes, discretion and know your surroundings, but is there a good reason to just leave it home?

You'll be fine. Pretty much everyone has a Rolex in Oslo.

Norway and Denmark are notoriously dangerous:
https://norwaytoday.info/news/man-in...ner-in-baerum/ https://norwaytoday.info/news/man-in...ner-in-baerum/ This applies to pretty much any major city you google In all seriousness, if you have to ask, leave it at home. I enjoy travel and always wear my Rolex |

Point being you can come up with Rolex related crime just about anywhere. If you are in doubt, don't wear it. Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk |

If you live in the United States and want a good summary of research and data on travel and safety to any one country, the State Department puts out a pretty comprehensive bulletin. All you have to do is google "United States, State Department Travel Advisory".

You should be careful also in Stockholm - I live here. There has been many reports of watch robberies, also covered in the media. I dont want to make it sound worse than it is, but you should be careful also here.

Friend of mine who is Swedish had his AP Chrono stolen outside a bar in Stockholm. That was 5 years ago. Can happen anywhere but chances are slim in Scandinavia.

Thanks for the comments. I’ve traveled a lot throughout Europe, often to business centers, and always felt safe, but haven’t been there since Covid, and I know things have changed.
Scandinavia has a reputation for safe, hospitable cities and we will be in good areas and keeping a low profile, we’re really looking forward to it. I think the Explorer is coming with me.

Copenhagen and Oslo is fine. Stockholm has a violent crime rate comparable to that of San Diego. I would recommend against advertising your Explorer at night in shady areas, other that you will be fine.

Leave it home and enjoy your trip. If you wear it, you'll be self-conscious and not enjoy your time there. Not worth the stress..

I recommend not to wear ar night in Cph, many dancing thiefs, pirate taxi drivers etc in the center unless u not into those scenes. Many locals got robbed as well.

Oh, regarding Stockholm, the last 2-3 years I have gotten unwanted attention on the subway when wearing a Rolex visibly unfortunately. I avoid it nowadays. There are some suburbs here you do not want to visit either with a Rolex showing.
I got a Tudor BB58 blue two years ago because of this. I wear it during short-sleeve season. |

We’ll be traveling by subway in Oslo and Stockholm, but not late at night, and staying in the nice areas of those cities. In Copenhagen we will be bicycling about the city and walking. Between the cities we will visit a couple of villages in rural areas and taking trains. Long sleeves will be the attire.

Why even worry about it at all? These cities are wonderful to visit. Don't let worry about a watch hamper your travel enjoyment. Leave it at home and go out and explore the world some more!

The countries are wealthy and the people are content, respectable and predicable. Perhaps the safest region in the world to wear the Hope Diamond.

I think the watch is the least of your worries in Sweden.
It is one of the most dangerous countries in the world for women.
