Day Date Dark Grey Dial

Passed on this one in December and it’s back available; dark grey dial, diamonds, 36mm day date.

For any current owners; have you been satisfied with the dial? (This isn’t the age old question of 36 vs 40)

I really like the watch just trying to decide on this dial or a more common black or champagne.

The fact it’s been on the sales floor tells me it’s not the most sought after but I really do think I like it. Any wrist shots from anyone?

Great looking watch and one you do not see very often. It looks very nice on your wrist and could be a great addition to any collection. The fact you do not see it or it has been around a bit goes to the unique quality of the watch. You will stand out with a DD no matter what the dial but why not have one that is special and this one qualifies. If you should get tired of the dial in a few years you can source an OEM dial and have it swapped out and keep the original so you have options. I have done this several times with the DD's I have owned over the years. If the funds are available I would buy this watch and enjoy it. Let us know what you decide.

Great Advice! I really appreciate it!

Looks great, and 36mm looks perfect on your wrist.

Showroom floors don't usually do a good job of highlighting the dial as there aren't great opportunities to show what natural light does to the dial.

In my opinion it is a great choice.

Day Date Dark Grey Dial

Doesn’t suit my taste at all.
But it’s not my opinion that matters.

i think that dial works best with rose gold. i have the same watch but with the champagne dial because i preferred the classic look

though it does look nice on the website, hopefully someone here has some photos in natural lighting

I tend to agree with this. The YG pairs better with white/silver/champagne/black dials.

Rose gold seems to pair better with green/brown/grey dials.

Of course this all a matter of personal opinion so…

The watch looks great on your wrist though. The 36 is the way to go.

On this watch I would prefer all small banquette(?) diamonds.

It really looks great on you !
I'm also looking for a YG 36 DD, and while at first I was only looking for a champagne dial, the more I see that grey dial the more I find it interesting.
I'm pretty sure to have seen another member here who bought the exact same watch and it looked great.

I agree with Kenny G, usually grey pairs better with rose gold (it's a killer combo) but I still find it pretty with YG.

While coming back from vacation few days ago I noticed a guy at the airport lounge who wore a YG DD with what seemed to be a grey dial (not sure of that, as I had a quick glance only and I was leaving the lounge to catch my flight when he came in). I instantely felt that it gave much more contrast to the watch (compared to a champagne dial) and loved the style.

As I'm looking for a classic style I think I will still prefer to go with the champagne dial, but in all honesty if I'd be able to try it and like it on wrist I will buy it without hesitation, you can't go wrong with that one.

Doesn’t go with the gold imo. I would pass for sure.

Think dark grey goes better with WG or PT

I’m just shocked that any Rolex is in the case again.
