What Size Wrist Does A New Rolex Fit
I have a 6 3/4” or 17cm wrist and only 1 link was taken out of my new YM40 yesterday, so my watch has 11 links instead of 12.
I was thinking that if you had a wrist of say 7 1/2” you would need to buy an extra link ?? What is the experience of our larger wrist members ? |

I suspect this will vary based on the watch. For example, I had 1 link taken from my Skydweller on oyster. But, I had 2 links taken from my daytona and my explorer II. don't forget the easylink extension gives another 5mm of adjustment. Additionally, there are 3 slots inside the bracelet which can be adjusted. By default, the bracelet is in the middle position, but moving forward or backward will provide an extra + or - 2.5mm

Hi yes my bracelet is in the middle position which allows more adjustment.

7.25” is standard for Rolex spot on fit
Most of mine fit out the box from AD (7.25”) Been told that’s what Rolex deems average. Above or below need adjustment generally. |

IDK folks… i mostly see people with an average or above average wrist taking the same amount of links as I am taking out… my wrist is 6.7’ approx (actually measured and not guessed as most people do) and I remove 3 links and the largest micro-adjust.
I guess either people wear it very loose or don’t know that they took out more links. Rolex wouldn’t aim for the average size rather they went for a bigger size than average to be able to always remove and not add unless the size is unusually big. |

Looking at all of the above I still feel that with all links fitted and the bracelet in the slackest of the 3 positions anyone with over 7 1/2” wrist would need to buy a link. The easy link extension is for hot weather not normal wear.

As others have said, I think it varies with the watch. I have a 19.5 cm (~7.75 in) wrist; the 12-link Oyster bracelet that came with my DJ41 fits perfectly.

I have a 9" wrist, fetch the extra links please! My planet ocean was the closest to being right out the box but added just 1 link to give comfort for swelling.

I have a 7.5" wrist. When I bought my new sub they didn't remove any links and had the glidelock all the way in. I ended up removing the half link from the bracelet myself and adjusting the glidelock more in the middle. That way I can go either way with the glidelock when I need adjustment throughout the day and the clasp sits a little better on my wrist as well

My wrist is around 7.25” and both OPs I’ve had were a perfect fit right out of the case. I’ve tried on a few DD that fit good as well but they were a little more snug. The professional models were a little looser
