H. Moser & Cie. Red Gold Streamliner Tourbillon

Following on from the all-steel version, H. Moser & Cie. is releasing a red gold Streamliner. The streamlined aesthetic of this ode to minimalism complements the complexity of the automatic movement and the materials chosen. In a striking play of contrasts, H. Moser & Cie. distils the essence of the tourbillon, the traditional Haute Horlogerie mechanism, combining it with Vantablack®, an innovative coating used in astrophysics and taken from the aeronautical industry. Minimalist, ultra-modern and timeless.

CHF 109,000

There's just something about it that's "close" but not right to my eye.

Maybe without a tourbillon it would hit the mark?

I think it’s definitely a beautiful piece, but I think the tourbillon clashes with the vantablack minimalism. On one hand, you could argue that the vantablack creates a stage for the tourbillon to be showcased, but personally I think I’d enjoy it more without the tourbillon. Sick watch either way though.

I'm kinda surprised they didn't do a concept dial version yet. I'd love one in Ti. I like this one but the markers look a bit off to me.

The finishing on that movement is not up to par. Not for a 100k watch.

I'm sure the solid gold, tourbillon and dial account for most of the price. Try putting that combo into a Lauren Ferrier and see what that sells for....

I’m just not feeling this. The price seems way too high, and the cutout for the tourbillion just seems weird to me. The red gold nice but it looks so weird contrasted with the Vanta Black and the incidies/hands. I really wish they would’ve just stuck with stainless steel and the Vanta black dial.

Imho far better overall package than any of the Trinity Trap brands at that ask, and TTrap brands would ask 2x the price(!). You should get a one-off with the finishing you desire, that's part of the fun with true independents.

Having seen a vantablack moser in person, I simply do not get the point of this dial material when the sapphire crystal shows reflections anyway

Literally, completely pointless

The red gold and Vantablack dial combo AND tourbillon just doesn't do it for me. Why have a Vantablack dial if the effect is muted or eliminated with applied dial indicies and a big fat tourbillon at 6:00?

Also, the Streamliner case shape looks surprisingly bad in rose gold.

Of course, I could never afford one, and I will probably never see one in the flesh, so what do I know.

Not surprised about the release. Steamliner never released in gold. Never in vantablack. Never with tourbillon. I'm talking about regular production models here. Just like the others...the design ethos of the company is to not do the same thing. Each model will be unique and not a copycat or slight iteration. It's a good change and helps to build out the brand and lineage of the Streamliner too. I'm not a huge fan of buying a tourbillon itself, but I think it is a cool idea and no surprise they went big on it for a totally new type of metal. Bravo to them as they keep making unique models instead of the slight tweaks. And this is not some laughable piece like others seem to think the company keeps doing. Those are almost one-off at best. The vision is clear with them. I'm not sure the Streamliner case/bracelet looks any different in any type of metal. I think more likely is that some like the look or don't. I see an identical take in the gold here as with the stainless steel. Though some don't like the bracelet design--even though it is one of the most comfortable ones out there realistically.

This is off the mark for me. Something about the red gold detracts from the amorphous and fluid nature of the case/bracelet design.

Maybe there's way too many strong design elements conflicting with each other rather than harmonizing between the red-gold, vantablack, tourbillon, indices...

Whereas i thought the Moser/Armoury Endeavour was a great showcase of vantablack & minimalist design, this Streamliner is over the top in a discordant fashion.

Agreed tourbillon adds more to the mix and lots to integrate w all the other new changes.

That is one ugly watch, IMO. The streamliner line in general won't age well, again IMO.

Oh man, you big tease! Soooo wanted one of those and paid the $3500(?) as tried reserving one yet was not picked by their lottery system. Even if offered one today it's too late as have an MB&F on order.

H. Moser & Cie. Red Gold Streamliner Tourbillon

Doesn’t suck but doesn’t excite. In short it’s a moser. A lot of their stuff looks like they took mall watches and then paid a fortune to have them made better.

I realize that’s not the case. Just an observation from an a***hole.

Are you even wishful thinking like me and hoping to grab it at half price or even lower when dooms day or recession hits. Currently I have saved it for later on my wishful list

I kind of agree with this sentiment. I’ve never seen a Streamliner, but I remember being surprised when I saw the rest of the Moser range at Harrods for the first time that they managed to be both plain and gauche which was… an odd combination.

No lol this one isn’t calling me. If there was ever a moser I really liked it was the cylindrical tourb. Serious breguet vibes but beautiful execution none the less.
