I didn’t watch the video yet buy I’m very happy to see De Bethune announce their DB25 Perpetual Calendar in 40mm. I hope that smaller size continue for their future releases.

I'm happy with the 40mm size but not too excited about the U$145k price tag for a simple PC in titanium. It is not finished like a RRCC2/Dufour behind to command such a premium imo...

Oh I totally agree. The price is nuts. I’m a huge De Bethune fan and desperately want one of their watches but the pricing on this seemed odd to me as well. I wonder if the cash infusion they received from Watchbox has anything to do with it. I thought for the most part their prices have been fair but I first got concerned when they priced the Starry Varius Aérolite Tourbillon at $260K. An amazing watch to be sure but that seemed to be the start of a worrisome trend on pricing from them.

Still….40mm….I hope they continue doing that lol.

Well, with what inflation is, and the fact so many more people want these watches than can get them, they can certainly test a higher price. Make up for all the years they toiled away earning such little profit.

I don't think DB is totally unfairly priced, aggressive though like the Gronograph. A trinity perpetual will run about $100k, the MB&F perpetual is $200k, somewhere in the middle sounds about right. You want to talk about nuts pricing, how about the $45k GF wants JUST for the bracelet on the new GMT? That same bracelet is "only" $35k on the balancier s2.

DB styling overall is not to my liking, and the exorbitant price just reinforces that view.

I'm not privy to how the watch market actually works as a business, but I thought DB had one foot in the grave, and was rescued, essentially, by some bankers. I don't know how DB originally got into that predicament, but I hope the powers that be know what they are doing.

Not sure what I find more egregious, Hermes selling stuffed animals for $1000 or the GF bracelet for 40k. I guess there's something for everyone...
