226658 YG Yacht-master 42 - Incoming

I went to the AD over the weekend to confirm some RSC work and inquired about a WG Yacht-master 42. They did not have any in stock, but they did have a new YG Yacht-master 42 that just came in and was available for purchase. Maybe not a popular model or dumb luck, but I was extremely surprised as I usually expect no inventory per the norm.

My AD didn't have any extra OF straps to size and I learned quickly that I had to wear the OF tighter than I normally would. With a bit a sweat, the smooth rubber was sliding around my wrist. So I made a quick trip to my local RSC to pick up a smaller 6 o'clock strap for about ~$300.

Although I wanted WG at first, the YG and black rubber go really well together. The YG gives it a softer and more refined look.

My SA informed me of a price increase 9/1 so I scheduled an appointment for purchase for 8/31 to mark a special occasion and to beat the price hike.

Congratulations! I have the Everose and love it! Curious why you didn’t just have your AD get you the correct size strap so you wouldn’t have to pay?

congrats -- and yeah, that's the way I guess you gotta go to keep relationship with AD healthy. I'm picking the same one in the coming days, but sadly with the extra 5%. I can't believe Rolex is just in the middle of the year raising a 5%. Not sure if this has been seen before. What a crazy market. Just because the rich are using watches as an asset class. This is completely absurd.

I may have been mistaken, but it was explained that if I needed a new strap, I would have to pay regardless. However, my AD did not have any inventory of straps on hand and the stock straps were my fitment according to their chart. It took some real life wearing to realize I needed something tighter. Fortunately, my nearest RSC is only 20 minutes away.

Huge Congratulations

My OF Daytona needed to be resized. I stopped in the NYC RSC and they changed the bands and there was no charge. They kept the OF that was taken off.
