hi all

i'm wondering....

in terms of sports watches, rolex has really nice (and numerous) options in large size watches (40mm). GMT, EXPLORER, DAYTONA, SUBMARINER, YACHTMASTER etc...

The only true sports watch in a 'lady' size is the YACHTMASTER.

There's a market there (I feel) for a full-line of sport watches that are similar to the Datejust etc watches in size (31mm).

I am a woman. My wrist is small so anything 35mm or bigger is too big on me. except for the 'lady' yachtmaster, i really don't have any other options for a truly sport rolex.

i dive, i race, i travel, i hike. why is rolex ignoring me?

(and i feel a big woman's market). if you look at most women,you will notice they wear sports watches, and they are usually not 'lady' size.

ROLEX if you're reading, please make a DAYTONA, EXPLORER II, GMT, SUB, etc. that is around the size of the very popular (for women) 31mm men's watches. I WILL BUY IT IN A HEARTBEAT!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a cracker of a watch!

BTW, even if Rolex people read this forum, they have a history of almost 100 years of ignoring public opinion, so I don't think they're about to change course, even if your pleas make perfect sense.

Dont think it will ever happen but there are quite a few women who wear 40mm plus watches.That stick insect Victoria Beckham for one,the new TOG is quite sporty looking watch.But if you want a diver style Tudor make a fine Mini Sub,one for sale in our sales forum.

I agree. I was at my doctors office today and the nurse practitioner is looking for a watch. She pretty much had the very same complaints as you. I would like to see smaller sized sport watches for men too. I have small wrists and 36 to 38mm is just perfect for me

There's definitely a trend, both for women and men, of wearing bigger watches. That being said, you make a valid point. I have no connection to Rolex or how they make their decisions as to what kind of models to offer, so this is pure speculation on my part, but I sense that they have high "production thresholds". In other words, I think they have determined that for them to introduce a new model, they might have to sell at least "x" amount of them, maybe a large number like 100,000 a year or more. If they don't think they can sell that many, they don't ramp up production. After all, Rolex compared to other watch companies has a relatively narrow set of styles and functions in their lines. They just don't seem to introduce "Moon Phase" or "Alarm" or other less popular functions. So my guess is this is part of the reason they are not in the market you are describing. If you can't wear a 40mm watch (although I recommend you try it on if you have a dealer in your area, because it might be OK for you) you could look at Omega and Breitling, just to name two alternatives, and there are certainly more out there. You bring up a good point though. Maybe they will come around to your point of view in the future.

I would like to see a Lady GMT II. But then some guy would make a bezel that rather than say 2, 4, 6, 8,... it would say wash, iron, cook, clean....

Rolex knows they can sell 1000 daytonas to every one ladies sport watch they sell. They are in it to make money. Yes, there were the "first" with a lot of things, but they are a business. They may be able to sell ladies sport watches, but my guess is, they would sell a VERY minimal amount.

The other thing to point out is that my wife and I looked at a Ladies DateJust with oyster bracelet. That is one tough watch. Solid center links, newly designed clasp.... That has the same features as the sport watches, with the exception of the rotating bezel. If that bothers you, the yachtmaster is right up your alley. You can even get it in SS, TT, or all gold.. Whatever suits your fancy.
