Steel vs Titanium buckle

I am considering a new buckle from Panerai. One of their trapezoidal buckles for the Luminor. They have steel and titanium for the same price (a hefty $270). Any thoughts on one versus the other? I realize titanium is lighter and more rust resistant, but honestly don’t think either attribute would be much of a factor over stainless steel.

Personally, I would match the material of the buckle to the material of the case.

I commend that. The titanium buckle is no brained if you have a titanium cased watch. The stainless steel buckle comes in either brushed or polished finish. Also, you can choose from the trapezoidal buckle style (aka preV type) or ardillon style (aka thumbnail)

It should match the case.

I’m not an expert on Panerai but I do own a few. Perhaps a brushed stainless steel one is the natural compromise? Although I’m not sure what a trapezoidal buckle is.
