My cheaper white Daytona "replacement"
I have collected 4 Rolex watches (16610, 16710, 16570 and 16600), owned 10 others too... and I used to be obsessed with white Daytona.
Well back in 2010 my friend got his Daytona first and I had a chance to wear his watch over the weekend. It was supposed to be the "holy grail" and after the first two, three hours I realized it wasn't. It was so small and the pushers seemed to be very long and out of proportion. I'm 6'3 tall and I have big wrists. That watch just didn't look right on my wrist and it was somehow "old fashioned". I had the exact same issue with Breguet Transatlantique Xx which I briefly owned. While the standard 40mm Sub and GMT wear perfectly these smaller chronographs just don't seem to be right. I wanted a white chronograph. Bigger than 40mm. Breitling Avenger chronos are just too thick. I had a Skyland and I was constantly banging it against the door frames and it was just way overboard. Super Avenger is just too crazy to even consider. Omega Broad Arrow white dial is very nice but the off-white, yellowish dial isn't for me. I also have the old Bond Chronograph which I really like (I've owned it for over 10 years) but it's also thick due to ETA and it isn't white. I acquired this about 5-6 years ago for the fraction of the Daytona price. This has Lemania-based inhouse movement and the details are amazing. At 44.5mm it's perfect size for me. Ebel as a brand has fallen to the TAG-hierarchy lately but they used to make very high quality watches. 1911 Sport Classic Chronograph used to be almost twice as expensive as new Daytona back in the 1980's. I wear this every week at least once. Strange how little recognition this BTR series ever got from the watch enthusiasts. It has contemporary design and size, it's much slimmer than the ETA-based chronographs and the finish can easily rival any brand. Cheers.

I would recommend the Vacheron Overseas Chrono and the Parmigiani TONDA GT CHRONOGRAPH if you want to go more high end with larger size watches.
