Rare Vintage Rolex Submariner 6536/1 - 1957 - NR
727valjoux ( 2 ) Opionions on this one too guys? Rare and vintage Rolex GILT Submariner ref. 6536-1 "James Bond" - watch all original circa 1957 As original an example as you are going to see of James Bond no-crown guard Submariner, model 6536/1. This wonderful watch dates to 1957 based on both the serial number in 307,000 range as well by the date code stamped on the inside of the case (III.57). The dial is all original - never refinished and so are the hands including the original lollipop seconds hand, with all matching radium luminous. This is the now dial is an excellent example of a gilt dial with 2-tone text. Case: The case is in very good condition. The model number is clearly visible between the lugs. The serial number is easy to see. The caseback is engraved 6536-1 III.57. The watch is equipped with the Rolex perpetual calibre 1030 automatic, movement was just serviced by my Rolex trained watchmaker and is keeping excellent time. Also note the original bezel still fitted to the watch. The original low dome Rolex crystal is still installed on the watch. A Rolex riveted Oyster, model USA bracelet is attached to the watch. This is a fabulous example of this timeless and collector grade investment. Small Crown James Bond Submariners are still very undervalued compared to the Big Crown Submariners.

Watch looks ok to me.
And in pretty good shape for a >50 year old piece. Seller has two previous purchases on ebay including one from jose_and_sister_trading.... so possibly bought this piece from them in '08. Anyone else ??? |
