Day Date skipping a date??

I got it used, about 2 yeas ago, I don't know when/if the original owner had it serviced. It's a early 90's 18238, and I notice some months, it will skip a day, like this morning I see Thursday the 17th, I knew that didn't sound right so I check my phone, and today's the 16th. I know...take it in for servicing.

I have an aftermarket diamond bezel and dial...will they really keep those and not return them?? So I have to put the original fluted back on and original dial before sending it out?

No, they will not keep your diamond bezel or aftermarket dial.. They will refuse to service it unless you agree to change them..

But, why would you send it to Rolex knowing that you have those parts on it...? There are plenty of quite capable Rolex trained watchmakers around..

That's true...I wish I could take the parts off myself and put the orig back on...that's gonna cost me at least 40 bucks from the diamond district guys...I doubt a Tourneau or WB or Wempe would do it for free, and they'd probably charge more than diamond dist guys

Did you buy your watch from a local AD? If yes, then I would see if they would do it for free. Make sure they know you bought the watch from them.

What was the verdict on your date skipping? My DD 18238 never skipped. Just wondering.
