Help with identification

Can anyone help with a question about a 1920 Rolex. It is engraved with 25/12/24 on the case back. On the inside of the case it has a 9ct hallmark with the usual R.W.C.Ltd in an oval box and the numbers 2504 stamped on it. One of the wheel cogs is stamped with 1920. Were Rolex watches often stamped with a number or date on the wheel cogs or do I have something pretty rare? Any help would be appreciated as I intend sticking it on ebay.
