Who prefer WG or YG DD?
I wanted to see what do you guys like on a DD?, Forget the Plat too much $$$. I wanted to do more research on these watches (DD) any websites deicated to the DD?.
I ordered the books on the Rolex but it'll be here in 5 days. I need more info on the DD. I still havent seen the one my Jewerler wanted to sell (busy with work) me. But either way I cant get it any time soon Just spent over $6,000. for my wife's DJ in Maui, HI which the honeymoon alone was a fortune. Also have to get her dad a Rolex FIRST for his Birthday in Dec, Then I can get mine (DD or GMT whatever I get a deal on) then Im done with my collection LOL |

GerardoG Its such a small pic expaned it it does look excellent. I pretty much agree with everyone that the WG is nice but looks to much like my SS DJ. I think a YG looks Classic and stands out more than WG. I never had a Gold watch thats why I think the DD is perfect.

Those pics look RG which would be my choice (if that was one of the choices)
However I dont like the oyster bracelet on the DD, the President bracelet is unique to the DD and I feel looks better on it. But that could be because I feel too many watches are offered with the Oyster. Off topic but I really wish rolex would release a few more bracelets. |

Yes JJ that was one of the best I have ever seen, the dial hands were genuine Rolex. But that simple mistake of getting serial/model numbers ars# about face, I would have bought it.But like I said the guy did buy it as a genuine Rolex, and pretty sure would have fooled most. And when we got the back off, his face dropped,to see a ETA 2824-2T,But it was the top range guilt movement, and when my watchmaker friend tested the gold it was just under the 18ct.

Agree and if I did not get the bracelet off to check serial it surely fooled me.Dont think many people carry a Rolex case opening tool around with them.As to profit, well again how many did the maker sell, against in reality how much does the genuine watch cost to produce. If we knew that IMHO, we would all have a very sharp shock indeed.

Freddy, the DD is a ser. no. 913xxxx, which makes it a 1985-86 vintage.

The choice here basically boils down to how showy you want to be, IMHO.
The DD is the most blinged out Rolex for sale so it is there to make a statement. If you relish attention, go for YG. If you want to be more stealthy, go WG. Personally I don't like gold watches so I voted for WG. |

Out of the choices you have I voted WG, but if I were going to get one it would be RG
