Tudor Chrono Question...

Ok first of all if this does belong in this sub forum mods please move...

So I really wanted to buy a chronograph watch to wear as my daily watch. I have a Black Bay Chrono White Dial Stainless Steel 41mm Watch M79360N-0002 in mind. Like Rolex there is a waiting list...

I got on two local waiting list recently. Well the salesperson at one of the dealers said I should also look at the Omega White Dial Speedmaster racing Co-Axial Master Chronograph which is a 44mm. This is a newer release that I was not familiar with.

Wondering what members might think about either of these two watches?

I would look at any chrono in your price range. Fit is key for me and the Tudor chrono was too thick for me to even consider.

What’s too thick for some is fine for others. The Tudor chrono is not that thick IMO. Brands such as tag, longines etc make chronos much thicker.

In pure specs it’s virtually the same as the 1861 moon watch, but looks bigger due to the case shape. If you can, try on. You might like it. I do and I used to think the 41mm tudors were very thick.

The racing omega is nice, but is bigger at 44.25 and I think overall the same thickness or thicker than the Tudor. It’s also a bit more expensive but a nice watch all the same.

I was in the same position. Ultimately, I waited on the chrono because I liked it better. For whatever reason, the Omega dial just didn’t do it for me. I looked at other chronos but just kept coming back to the Tudor.

The only other option I think could have swayed me would be a panda dial Speedy Pro. There are some limited editions but nothing widely available and i wanted to buy new.

What thickness is your wrist - if it is 7 inches or over Tudor Chrono should look fine. But more importantly, try it on at a dealers and make sure you are happy with the thickness and feel of it. If you are, the Tudor Chrono is a great watch and excellent value for money. Good luck!

Being familiar with both, IMO you would be getting a better watch in the omega. That Tudor isn’t the easiest to read and I find the 45 min totalizer strange.

Here we go with the thickness BS again. Chronos are thick, outside the Daytona but the tudor is very wearable and inline with 90 percent of other chronos. The omega is nice, but 44mm is large and the watch has a (to my eye bloated look). I don’t know why they don’t do that same omega with the speedy pro case

Tudor chronos aren't that much higher in price in the grey market. There's no reason to wait for it at an AD unless it's part of your strategy to establish a relationship.

I'd entertain a speedmaster variant only if you've already had a moonwatch. Looking back now I should have started with the moonwatch and then expand out rather than buy any of the speedmaster variations first. But that's just my experience and opinion.

Nah, I like the Moonswatch. I’ll just buy a Speedy in a couple of years.

Thank you for the replies. I have 7 3/4 - 8 in wrist. I wish I could try either or both on. Nothing is stock that I found near me... I had a big block panda for years. I felt it was thick and would not want anything in that range. I like my 116520 white Daytona feel. Not the best clasp for me. Like the new sub clasp much more.

The Tudor Black Bay Chrono is an awesome watch.

I have both the black and white dial versions and prefer the black dial more as it wears smaller on my tiny wrist.

Both dials will wear nicely on your 7 3/4 - 8 in wrist though!

Modern speedmaster racing are a notch above bb imo and in price as well. Although supply isn’t an issue. As far as I can see
