Have to get a Sprite (126720VTNR)!

I am smitten with the Sprite.

Other than secondary market - anyone have a idea of how to get one for retail? I am happy to get on a wait list if it's reasonable.

If I am being a dope thinking I can get one on retail without special connections -- then just tell me.

Thanks!

CT

How did you get your other Rolex pieces? If you purchased them from an AD then go back to the same one and let them know you're ready to purchase your next piece

I don’t want to sound mean but you said if you are being a dope then just tell you, well I think you are being a dope thinking you can get one at an AD without connections or a purchase history.
Good luck with your adventure.

This is pretty much your best chance.

Thanks -- never actually bought from an AD, just worked through folks on this forum (back when SS watches could be purchased for less than retail).

Now my lack for AD relationships will likely haunt me.

My local AD told me that that my best chance at getting the Sprite was to become the best athlete in the world within a high-revenue sport ...

I’m on the list at two different ADs. I have limited purchase history, a Tudor and a bunch of jewelry. Both have told me that the Sprite is very uncommon. Neither told me the likelihood outright, but it seemed unlikely that it would happen. My main AD made it seem like it was more likely that I’d get a Cermit.

The VTNR is my favorite Rolex, so much so it's ruined my rotation.

Apparently if your AD knows you're a righty wearer it helps.

Now if they'd just be kind enough to discontinue it...

I don't think anyone is a 'dope' for wanting to be able to buy a watch they love, but I do think it will probably be pretty difficult to acquire this from an AD without a purchase history and without purchasing anything else.

I could be totally wrong about this, but from what I have seen on this forum, it doesn't sound like ADs are getting tons of them, but it does seem like a lot of folks who own numerous Rolex watches do want one, and this may put you in competition with well-established customers of an AD.

A frank conversation with an AD might give you a better idea of the difficulty in acquiring one.

No chance then I’m afraid. Will have to go grey. I actually think this piece will fare well value wise in the future even if purchased grey. It’s an outlier and won’t last long in the catalogue I feel

It's a long shot but worth having a genuine honest conversation and inquiry with your local AD.

actually no one can puy this watch at retail price. either you build a decent spending history at an AD in order to get into the waitlist, or buy from a grey dealer at market price.
