Tokyo & Seoul

Hello my good people,

I’ll be in Tokyo and Seoul soon, and would love to see areas where there are reputable (Rolex) watch dealers.

Any recommendations?

Thank you!!

Nakano Arcade in Tokyo has many Rolex dealers under 1 roof and close to Nakano train station.
Check out the you tube channel of Austen Daniels , The Watch Symposium , although has hasn't posted anything in the last couple of Months , mostly Tokyo related , but may have covered Seoul as well , as he gets around Asia a bit , almost exclusively Rolex related.

Do you mean authorized dealers?
There is no authorized dealer in Nakano.
If it's a secondary distribution store, Nakano area is the most suitable as everyone says.
If you want to go to an authorized dealer, you should visit Shinjuku and Ginza!

I'm in Seoul. There is a district full of watch dealers and no shortage of Rolex. The main building is called Saewoo Square Plaze, the area is Jongno 4-ga, about 1km east-by-north east from City Hall. You can spend a few hours there, for sure. There are some counters/shops that are just full of Rolex. Keep in mind that Koreans are savvy about what is popular and sometimes will adjust prices accordingly when they see a foreigner.

If you fancy a two-tone datejust with diamond markers, then this is the place!

Don't limit yourself to Rolex!

I realize this is in Rolex general discussion, but check out the WAKO in Ginza and the Grand Seiko boutique (among others) in the Ginza area. Some great limited editions to come out of the WAKO boutique from GS.

The AD's are just as empty as everywhere else but the area's that everyone else mentioned are good. I have bought from Commit Watch in Ginza and they have a pretty good selection.

With the exchange rate you can get some really good deals since the yen is so weak. Also if you have your passport you can get tax free.

+1. Here is a google maps link:
Sewoon Square Seoul

You will find everything from Gshocks to Pateks and APs. Most dealers will have Rolex. I bought my 16600 from a dealer there a few months ago.
That entire neighborhood is the main gold/jewelry district in Seoul so aside from Sewoon Square (which is an indoor mall) you will find many jewelry shops that have watches.
Note that most will be used. You can come across some BNIB here and there.

You can also find watch dealers in ApGujeongDong (압구정동) on ApGuJeongDong Rodeo area. There is a "thrift store" called Gugus (구구********* 압구정점) where they deal in very high end used luxury goods (purses, shoes, as well as watches). They had a pretty decent selection of Rolexes when i went there last weekend. There was a smaller shop on the same street (forget the name) and they also had a decent selection as well.

I will say though that used rolexes seem to be priced pretty high...but with the USD being so strong vs the KRW, you should still be able to find a good deal, assuming you are paying in USD.

As far as Authorized Dealerships in Japan are concerned , for the most part they have little to no stock in store and will only sell to Japanese citizens.

I’d like to add they’ll sell to Japanese residents (I mean non Japanese living in Japan (based on my experience)), but it takes time to “build the relationship,” so I understand your point.

If non-Rolex, the second floor of Wako is very cool in Ginza for GS/Credor options. Nakano is amazing in terms of options and the current price of the Yen might make the pricing good too. As a tourist you should be able to save the sales tax.

Good luck!!

It's insane there. I was in Tokyo and Osaka a few years back and the small time grey dealers literally had every hot model under the sun in IKEA grade glass cabinets on the pavement on display while thousands of people walk past.

Nakano Broadway is where its at. But be aware, if you're a bit of a nerd like me, you will be sidetracked as I am an avid anime figurine collector as well.

Apart from the ones mentioned above, they are reputable but imo pricing is slightly higher since they are target tourists as well.

Try Commit Ginza and also Ginza Axis these 2 are less well known but have absolutely one of the lowest prices as long as they have what you are after.

Otherwise i like GMT in shinjuku, not the cheapest by any stretch bht they have an absolute rock solid selection of rolex most likely Japans number 1. They are also good to sell to as well.

In Incheon, about 6 months ago there was a site under construction that had a big Rolex splash on the construction facade, but when I returned recently, airport personnel stated that Rolex decided not to open a shop there.

The Omega shop right outside of security (airport side), has had an amazing collection of really hard to get Omega's, and I have made a few purchases from them.

In the Incheon city, there are multiple Rolex grey market dealers, and they are asking an arm and a leg for anything Rolex.

Tokyo & Seoul

Folks

Thank you for the incredible tips.

I landed in Tokyo yesterday and went to visit Nakano Broadway - and spent 4 hours or longer there today! Given the pound x yen exchange I was able to buy a 2022 Sky Dweller for just over £18,000 considering list price at £12,800 in the UK. Attached the picture of the shop i bought it from - they had incredible prices. The number of shops and of watches in this place is insane!!!

Thank you all!!!

Also looking for a Grand Seiko Ginza model! Hard to find even here. Didn’t see even one today at Nakano Broadway!
