Best size watch with a long sleeve shirt?
My favorite size watch when wearing a short sleeve shirt 40-42mm. However when it’s time to wear a long sleeve shirt a 36mm is really handy. It doesn’t get in the way. Not my first choice but the most practical.

Depends more on the shirt than the watch. Custom shirts usually leave little to no room for any watch. Off the rack shirts typically leave room for a Volkswagen.

I personally like my watch fitted to my wrist whether i'm wearing a long sleeve or short sleeve, tbh i think its based on the individual.

<14mm case thickness works well for me.
I have a few at 14.1 and 14.2 and they fit under my cuffs but not particularly gracefully. |

I order my custom shirts with an extra 1/2 in on the watch side. Really helps ensure any watch can be used to fit the occasion.

I definitely tend to where wider diameter watches with short sleeves. Thickness is less of a consideration. 42” is the short sleeve sweet spot. 40” good for all else. 7-3/4” to 8” wrist here.

It may (also) depend on your wrist size and shirt cuff tailoring. Your pic looks great OP

Thickness matters a lot more than diameter for slipping under a dress shirt.
Having said that my DJ41 is my go-to dress watch and works fine with cuffs. |

Generally a tapered shape to the case profile and a domed bezel helps.
I don’t have pictures but, I have a 47 mm PAM that’s fits beautifully under a cuff and it’s 16mm thick. The slightly thinner SD43 however gets hung up due to the flat sided case. |
