Rolex Datejusts are available ...

Not only reading/hearing they are available, but have seen several at ADs
All being offered to me at list. And I have no history with them

Yet, they are still listed grey market at over list, even for used ....

Just, buyer beware

That’s awesome.. a trip to Cape Coral may be in order!

We did ok, close to Jacksonville - rode out my fair share in south Florida though.

I've been to two ADs and asked for Men's SS - nothing.

Then asked for a 36mm DJ.... and of course they had some under the counter!
- TT RG with 'wimbledon' dial
- TT RG with diamond checkerboard dial

So I'd say OP is correct. Chances of getting one are better than a couple years ago. Good way to build that "relation$hip" if these are something on your wish list anyway.

Couldn't get a call for my 40th birthday last week after registering interest 6 months ago with 2 ADs and one of them with my SA who sold me my BLRO. White dial, blue dial, green dial DJ 41, non-fluted bezel...didn't care about the bracelet. (along with Sub LV, Sub Date, OP41 green, blue).

So either I'm tainted or there isn't shit.

Maybe your AD will have availability if you share the Pappy with them

When the new AD opened (1 of my previous ADs closed) I brought 3 bottles of expensive champagne for my SA and General Manager (who were able to find employment with the new AD) and the owner.

Joke's on me.

Most likely tapping out on Rolex until I can walk in and obtain a piece.

I don't see why buyer needs to beware of this like it's a special situation unless you're flipping them.

Availability has always been YMMV. I've been offered 41mm datejusts in diff configurations in major and small cities throughout 2020-2022. They're not rare. Rolex shipping more units than everererer.

In fact Rolex makes and ships over 50 models of just daytonas when accounting for the different metals, dials, bracelets... not even including gemset. They're out there, they're just not calling you or i.

Do not ever trust any grey market list prices. The actual transaction price is usually about 15%-20% lower unless it's a very large grey dealer like... watchbox...

It's "buyer beware" who may not realize this, and pay over the gray market listed $11,000+

When you can get a new one for $7900

Just FYI, if you're looking, a new Datejust is not hard to get these days

FWIW

Market definitely softening, but depends on location. My area still has nothing, but maybe Florida gets larger allocations than where I am.

And here I sit waiting on another 126300 white dial, smooth bezel, oyster bracelet to come into my local AD. Had one a few months ago and I passed on it. Should have bought it, uggh. Naturally it sold over the weekend because when I called Tuesday to see if I could come pick it up, the rep told me it sold a couple hours after I left. Still kicking myself, it is my ideal watch.

White dial. Smooth bezel ,either bracelet works for me .

I was offered a blue dial ( nice ) but fluted bezel and diamonds. Turned it down
Same Dealer 2 weeks later had another DJ with fluted motif dial Turned it down

The Dealer probably threw my name & number away

Lucky you, not like that around here.
Are you sure they weren’t exhibition only?

Significant waits here for DJ41

I’ve been waiting 14 months for a black dial 41 with fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet from an AD in North London.

And have been told they very rarely see any DJ41s, particularly in the more popular configurations

Positive, they also had exhibition ones of the "good" stuff
Submariner, GMT Root Beer ...

But full functioning real Datejusts in stock

Oddly, (I thought) he said they've been seeing 41s, but no 36s

Datejust is the only attainable rolex here in Toronto. You can get any with little wait time. Only difficult one is Blue dial

I'm near Orlando & have been on "the list" with the Rolex boutique in Mall of Millenia since April for a slate dialed DJ41. If Cape Coral has one I'll take the trip. So far I've had no luck with any AD's in my area, or other areas I've visited recently for that matter.....

Cape Coral is too Mickey Mouse for a Rolex Dealer
Naples is your friend
Tourneau had the exact watch you mention, held it in my hand

I visited my AD in early October. They had two DJ41’s in the “available for sale now” case. One was silver dial/fluted on oyster. The other was black/fluted on jubilee. (I’m holding out for a silver/fluted/jubilee. So close!!) If I recall correctly, they also had some PM references that I wasn’t interested in.

I took it as a good indicator that inventories were improving.
