Got the watch within two weeks but waited two years to get it.

Just over two years ago I decided I wanted a Polar Explorer 216570. Here in Japan I have had no dealings with any ADs. Back in the U.K. , my parents have a reasonable relationship with an AD so I asked if they could ask for the watch back there and then get it when they next flew over to see me.
Thinking it might take a year or so to acquire the watch, I was surprised when just short of two weeks later, their AD called them and said my watch had come in.
The only problem was that Japan’s borders were pretty much locked down so they couldn’t come over to visit. We had just taken delivery of an even more special package, our second son, so we weren’t planning to fly back to the U.K. with him.
Finally Japan has eased its borders and my parents flew in a couple of days ago. I went to a local AD to get the bracelet fitted today and now I can finally wear this stunner.

Congrats on both ends.

Great wrist shot. Hopefully availability is getting better for those waiting.

Awesome pick up. Why did you not ask them to ship it to you earlier?

That is the previous gen Explorer II. Was this sourced from a reseller or somehow NOS?

I guess it just felt nicer that they would bring it with them when they came to see us. Admittedly, I didn’t realise it would be two years, but at the same time I wasn’t in any huge hurry to get the watch. I knew I already had it back in the U.K. so just needed a big dollop of patience.

Correct , it’s the 216570. Was bought at an AD two years ago when it was the current model in the collection. Not bought through a reseller or NOS.
