How long you folks have to wait before you received a call from an AD?
Curious about the timeline here. Feel free to share your experiences.
Edit: I got my black Sub in 2019. Hunted for it for three weeks until someone from this community referred me to an AD (THANK YOU!!). Called them and said they have the watch. Bought it the same day. I never had purchase history. Last edited by boychild; 30 October 2022 at 12:57 AM.. Reason: Additional info |

Got my first new Rolex in 2021 from this AD. Asked for the watch December 2020. (Only bought used Rolexes before that)
First was a BLNR on oyster in June 2021. Then a Daytona G/S White Dial for my wife November 2021 (asked for the watch when we picked up the BLNR) Then asked for a D-Blue when we picked that up. Got that in March. Then asked for a no date sub and got that 3 weeks later. Then last week picked up a Daytona G/S black dial for my Dad and a Tudor FXD for me. They will see if they could get me a Pepsi or Daytona in steel before Christmas. So pretty good timelines here. They said to Mikkel-Emil if they like you and they can see you are a collector or really want a Rolex or a Milestone watch, it's pretty "easy" to get most watches. Off cause they always have VIP customers, they had one who arrives in a private jet, they write to him if they get a cool Patek and not the other around. But it is how it is. I'm not wealthy at all, but have gotten all the watches I asked for. |

The last two times I been at my AD I have been offered the usual suspect that you could get pre corona. Airking, Yachtmasters, Explorers 1&2 and datejusts and most two tones. I think in the near future these watches will be back in the cases and steel sports models are the only ones with a real wait time.

Walk in for an OP in 2019, about a week for a YM 40 in April and about 9 months for a Sub Date that I got in August. The YM was a priority once I’d seen it (present for son’s graduation). I think that helped get the Sub.

Worked with 4 ADs, visiting them and making niceties often. Been over two years, heard nothing other than from one who said I need to spend more to get what I want. Another is out of the Rolex business. Bought grey market BNIB a couple months back and really don't care at this point. Will be interesting to see if I ever hear.

I put in a request for my BLRO back in April 2019. That July I was asked if I wanted to purchase a Root Beer, but I didn't have the money that watch. In January 2020 I got the text about my BLRO. I went and picked that up and have been wearing it ever since.

I got the call sooner than expected. This was November 2020. Told AD I was interested in either AK, Expl 1, or OP (tiff blue). A week earlier I had bought from him a discounted DJ for my wife out of the case. Brand new but for whatever reason it hadn't moved; stainless, silver dial smooth bezel (my fave), oyster bracelet. Paid $4k NIB, blank warranty card (which they filled out). Two weeks later he emails me and says he has an AK (which to me I wanted because it was a Milgauss w/ different dial at a lower price point!). Boom I pick it up a couple days later. I'd like to register interest for a plat DD, but afraid he'd call me too soon, and I wouldnt have the disposable cash avail!

I had pretty good luck with first time requests at different ADs.
Request 1- BLNR jubilee. Asked in 4/22, SA called me 6/22 Request 2- Ladies DJ TT everose MOP diamond dial. Asked in 7/22, SA called me 10/22 Request 3- Bluesy. Asked in 10/22, SA called me less than a week Now the tricky part is to slide in the Daytona request but it seems like it’ll be a long wait. Been considering TT Daytonas just to cast a wider net. |

Been waiting for a DJ41 since mid-April......
Previous 2 Rolex purchases was before this craziness, back in 2016 (BLNR) & 2018 (ladies DJ), where I just walked in & walked out with the watch I wanted |

About six months for an Explorer (124270)--no purchase history with this particular AD.

I get "the call" all the time - for Tudors and Omegas!
(ie. totally non-wish-list stuff.... implying that I must buy these before I can make it onto the real "wish list" ) |

I was never offered any Rolex by my AD. I can only get 1 professional model once a year, that's it.
My AD doesn't do "offer". I have to express my interest and then the management chooses among the list of interested parties. |

Depends on the AD and the watch. Anywhere from one week to six months in my experience.

Took less than a month for my 126610LV after putting in the request on 09/2021. My other request is a 116500LN white dial. That’s taking longer but to be expected. Other than that, I get a text every several months offering me a piece. Some I buy and some I don’t. I’ve purchased ten pieces from the same AD/SA over the years. Additionally, I’ve spent about 25% of the cost of those ten pieces on jewelry and other items both for gifts and for myself. But I would’ve spent that money anyway elsewhere. I can’t complain - my AD treats me well. As a side note, I recently purchased a gun metal ST DuPont pen from him - absolutely love it!

I called my AD the second the 124060 was announced and asked to be put on their purchase list. 9 months later, I got the call.

Every market is different but here in Austin, TX it's pretty tough. 12 and 16 month wait at the 2 local ADs and neither have offered me anything from my list. I have purchase history at both. When traveling to NYC or Los Angeles, i've only had luck walking into a random AD and getting sold something I want. Doesn't seem like every AD really cares about 'purchase history'.
Might end up going grey if the wait is more than another 6 months. |

First showed interest in a sub and BLRO back in June. Still waiting on those two. In the meantime bought a tudor bb58 in august, and showed interest for a OP41 green in september. Got the call 1 month after, which was a pleasant surprise. Still waiting on my sub and my grail, the BLRO.
edit: also this is in New Zealand |

Here in Switzerland :
Bought a quartz Cartier Tank for my wife and asked for a 126334 wimbledon. Got the call 7 months later. I've then bought a blue Cartier Santos for myself, and asked for a 126610LN. It's been 6 months, still nothing. I'm a little bit pissed because I've spent 20k+ in one year and I still have to wait more than 6 months for a sub...

Depends...
Depends what you're waiting for, and 2019 is way different than 2022.
I've been waiting for a Daytona since the release. I expect a call precisely never. (I bought a GMT and two watches for my wife, with little wait) |

Wait times for Rolex from my AD vary from zero to 15 months. There's no pattern to it.

I could not get a commitment for any new Rolex since 2016 until April this year. A new AD had opened in March and got me an LV green bezel Submariner in 5 weeks. No real rhyme or reason to any of it imo…
